Not as good as we were expecting, but cute atmosphere and though a couple people at the front were snippy the server wasn't as rude. Both got the vegan stir fry with curry and did not love. Fried ravioli was good though. Probably wouldn't go back.

A MUST place while visiting the city!
Be sure to make a reservation a week ahead (and do know that they are closed on Mondays).
The food is really good, specially the omelets and the salmon!

You've heard great things about Mother's - for good reason! The diverse menu brings healthy & hearty options to the plates of Portland; the staff is friendly & the atmosphere is marvelous. Suited for families and Bloody Mary-er's alike, it's the bee's freaking knees!

The waiting is insane but the service and taste is outside of this world. You never know how good it is if you don't go or it a shot. They literally are committed to providing the best tasting comfort foods around! Yummmm!

Institution in Portland. Great for brunch. Get ready to wait! Worth it though, at least once.

I've come here multiple times for brunch. If you don't have a reservation, be prepared to wait awhile! It's worth it though. The decor is elegant and unique. Their scrambles and egg Benedicts are really tasty!

The wait on a Sunday morning was nearly an hour and a half. The food was good, but wouldn't normally have been worth the wait, however they provide coffee and a seating area, plus they will text you when a table opens up so you can walk around nearby. The decor was really cool and I would probably go again, wait or no.

Great food, lively atmosphere. Go for the "manmosa" - more bang for the buck and it's okay to be buzzed before 9pm as long as you keep it classy

**SOLID AMERICAN BRUNCH in DOWNTOWN PORTLAND**

. . . but not the best in Portland.

Many DIE-HARD Portland brunchers swore by this establishment, so we decided to give it a try.

There was already a long line at 11AM, so we sat at the counter instead with no wait.

Super smiley baristas recommended the Traditional Eggs Benedict ($10.95) aka Weekend Benny and the Biscuit Breakfast ($8.95), so we ordered both to share and indulge.

They carried Stumptown, so I ordered my vanilla latte. Took more than 10 minutes. Too slow for a Joe.

15 minutes later, our breakfast items came out.

FOREWARNING: Portions are MEGA HUGE AND RICH.

I loved the hollandaise sauce of the weekend *Benny*. In fact, it was probably the best thing about the poached eggs. The English muffin, and the Canadian bacon were decent, nothing spectacular. Still, all in all, very good.

My friend could not finish her Biscuit Breakfast. I took a bite. The biscuits were *ok* by my standards and the gravy was out of control.

I preferred the Benny over the Biscuit Breakfast.

Solid American brunch experience. Not sure if I would venture here again, considering there are so many other excellent brunch options in Portland.

However, worth the experience, especially when we didn't have to wait. :)

RECOMMEND the weekend BENNY.

All the food was very good. Night time dining is someone what fine dining but breakfast is a great meal to enjoy here. The French toast was awesome

Mother's is consistently ranked as one of the best brunch restaurants in Portland. The decor is fancy, and the lines are often long, but despite the hype, Mother's is a good restaurant. They serve big, excellent portions of breakfast, sandwiches, and provides comfy yet refined American food.

Had brunch here a few times. Really good. They're sort of egg connoisseurs here ... so you might have to take a quick refresher course before ordering. But no worries, the waitress will be glad to give it to you. Enjoy!

Feels touristy but the food is on point. Salmon hash and cornflake french toast are both excellent and the service was stellar.

Gayle and I had breakfast here one late Saturday morning. There was a 30 minute wait, but we thought that Mother's staff handled the crowd and the turnover in a very friendly and efficient manner. And unlike some "long wait list" restaurants, staff here all seemed to truly appreciate our business.

We were seated at a nice table near the window (Avenue side) and in our only Portland star sighting, sat right next to Helen Hunt and her husband Matthew (maybe in town for the Portland International Film Festival?). And no, we didn't stare or ask for an autograph.

And like the couple next to us, Gayle and I enjoyed our privacy, the cute motherly decorations, a nice space conducive to conversation, the Mother of the Month (MOM) menu feature, and of course our meal. It was also nice to see the owner walk out into the dining area and greet people with a nice smile and sincere appreciation.

Gayle ordered a goat cheese omelet, which we agreed was delicious and cooked just right. I ordered the sausage scramble which was almost as good. The coffee was very good and Gayle also really enjoyed her spicy Bloody Mary.
