Stopped in, WOW happy hour. The cod slider with slaw, great cod slider but slaw stoke the show! Loved the little kick of spice at the end of the bite. The mussels and fries, mussels cooked perfectly. The mac n cheese, could have used salt and pepper. For dessert lemon graffiti chunky, gloves in lemon. The fruit tart fresh, also tasty. Paired with a glass of Pinot, that’s a great happy hour!

This place, like every place else in Portland, it seems, is busy for breakfast. Never fear, though, it was busy when we got there, but we were able to be seated right away, and they did have extra seating upstairs once the downstairs was full. Despite being busy, the food still came quickly. I got their benedict, which was served on a butter croissant, with a side of potatoes and squash.

I was so glad this place was near my Air BnB! Snagged an outdoor table and was able to people watch, pretending that I was in France.

Ordered the Eggs Provencal, which had 2 poached eggs on top of basil pesto, mozzarella and tomatoes. It came with potatoes and butternut squash. Also got a croissant on the side which was HEAVENLY flaky, and came with delicious raspberry preserves.

I would skip the matcha latte.

The meal was very reasonably priced as well as my eggs dish was $10 and it was so fresh.

If I didn't have so many bookmarks, I would've eaten here again during my trip.

This French Cafe in the Alberta district of downtown Portland is a gem! We enjoyed the food so much, we ended up coming for both lunch and dinner! During lunch, had the wild Salmon hash and Muerette Benedict, onions, sautéed mushrooms and bacon, served between a croissant. For diner, the menu was completely different, as we find on petite plays, such as fried calamari, escargot wrapped in filet dough, seared Ahi Tuna, and scallops in a white chocolate sauce, which was amazing! The serving sizes were perfect for two. The service was top notch and the environment was warm and cozy, and they even had a harpist performing during dinner! Definitely recommend this place!

I wanted to hate this place- it seemed inauthentic, contrived, out of place, especially in the still-transitional Alberta district. My boyfriend at the time invited me to breakfast, knowing I love French food, and I had to take everything back. Everything was delicious, the croissant I almost declined was otherworldly, the flavors precise and delicate. I had to take it all back. It may not be dining in Paris, but I'll never turn up my nose again.

The original one is on SE Division, but they now have 5 throughout Portland--one in the Alberta Arts District, one in Lake Oswego. Very good food, large portions.

This establishment recently changed its menu to what can be described as "French Tapas." A wide selection of small plates crafted with French flair. Good size-portions allow for plenty to eat for most folks with no more than $15 per person, plus drinks.

La Provence serves old-school french patisseries in a laid back area of Portland. The macaroons are good. I personally trying their almond macaroons. It's delish!
