If you are a craft beer or craft liquor lover this is a must stop. Make sure to try their delicious vodka.

Stopped in for a couple beers one afternoon. Nice place, clean. Currently under construction, so the bar is limited. Had a pretzel with some dips. They have burgers and fries, too, if you're into that.

Friendly and knowledgeable waitstaff. I ordered two seasonal beers (Cold Brew IPA and Wasted Sea Star Purple Pale Ale) and tuna casserole. The serving size was huge. As a solo diner, I'd stick with a lighter offering unless you're keen on leftovers.

Love their beers and funny bottles! Very welcoming place too! I didn't try any of the stuff from the distillery though. I love their nut brown the most. But they have so many unique flavors.

Sorry I can't be too much help on hotels, but definitely check out Rogue Distillery. Also down the street is Powell's Books, a great used bookstore.

This brewery is nationally distributed but I really didn't enjoy any of their beers. We had a tasting of about 10 different varieties and didn't find a single one that we enjoyed. they also have a promotional Voodoo donuts bacon maple beer that is really horrendous. Just not sure why this place is so popular.

I was at the famous Pearl District going into the even more famous Rogue Ales Public House!!
I was excited!!!
years and years drinking their beers, finally I had to see on of their bars =)

Pearl district is a very "happening" part of Portland. It has really cool stores and restaurants. Rogue is located in a corner and looks like any other cool place over there. But... inside you can see all their Rogue nation spirit at its best.

I went there on a Monday, and still the place was kinda crowded and it seemed that they were short-staffed but that didn't matter!!! We seated in the bar, and the bartender took good care of us.
Kudos!!! and my apologies to him, I forgot his name.
But since I'm a woman of my word here are my Kudos!!!

I felt overwhelmed! almost like a kid in a candy store =)
it was so much to chose from

What did I have?
to drink a sampler (obviously I wanted to try as much as possible)
all beers where great but 19 Colonies stood up.

To eat I had a French dip, it was good. My friend had a kobe burger and said it was delicious.

Let's say that this place is a 4, good beers and all, but the philosophy, the history behind it, and their great service make it a 5.

Great place!

I vaguely remember some sort of Rogue beer place in Ashland years ago in a building by the creek that now houses an Indian Restaurant. Since that time, I have purchased the occasional Rogue 6-pack and admit a preference for their Dead Guy Ale (sort of a Mai Bock). There is also a Rogue Ales Public House in San Francisco, although I'm usually otherwise distracted by other choices when I'm in that area of North Beach.

Anyway, it was a late Friday afternoon and we (Gayle, her son, and me) were all looking for another nice walk, and a modest lunch before the big family BBQ later that evening. So based on the recommendation at the hotel, this "Rogue" bunch headed off on its continuing quest towards burger and beer nerdvanna.

This Rogue is more unpretentious than other Portland ale houses I have imbibed. Maybe its because the plethora of their well-described and tasty beers speak for themselves. And the fact that they minimize the sports bar vibe and maybe disappoint avid Blazers and Sharks ("choke") fans is actually a plus. This is a nice spacious place for hanging out person to person (inside or out), and without certain distractions like sports and staring into the smaller screen on your phone.

Our service was friendly, prompt and excellent all around. Our beers and modest lunch choices were all very tasty. It was a nice experience and time together all around. And we figured the Barley and Hops conundrum. I think the secret is that one door swings open and the other one locks.
