On this night, galleries extend their hours and shoppers fill the streets. Portland Center Stage features entertaining performances at Gerding Theater. Summer visitors enjoy the tide pool and fountain at Jamison Square. Hop on a street car to get a free ride around the four mile loop that is the Pearl District.

This is a wonderful area. There are lots of shops, food and entertainment. You can either walk or take a streetcar, no car needed. I also want to mention Alchemy Jewelers. Absolutely beautiful pieces.

A popular gentrified business district near downtown Portland where locals and tourists go. Nice restraunts and ritzy art joints is a little pricey area but fun to go.

The area north of West Burnside Street, a main east-west route through downtown Portland, is known as the Pearl District and is home to some of the most hipsterish cafes and shops. It is fun to explore and dip through the side streets looking in boutiques but won't take up much more than a couple of hours. Prices in most stores are high so bear that in mind if you want to buy any souvenirs.

The Pearl District is the hub of Portland nightlife and city life. Come here for a myriad of restaurants, bars, breweries, cafes, etc. There's something for anyone and everyone! Looking for donuts, look no further than Blue Star Donuts! Good restaurant? Try Tasty N Alder! It's a joy to walk around and "explore" downtown Portland here!

Welcome to the precious gem of Portland. A neighborhood designed to welcome those who love the character of life in the Pacific Northwest. Listen as the water falls and neighbors walk their Tibetan Terriers and couples grill their classic Alder Planked Salmon. Enjoy a taste and a walk through paradise in the rain, Portland's Pearl!

The Pearl District might be something to see if you like shopping, and for those with more expensive taste. It was good to walk around in, to see different aspects of Portland, as it is very different from the rest of the city (more modern, swanky, very few homeless). I only needed 5 minutes in the area, just to see what it was like. Not for me.

A lot of the nice restaurants and bars are located in the Pearl District. We stayed at someone's condo through Airbnb, it was a cool area, but for some reason, it smelled like dog pee EVERYWHERE we walked. That was unpleasant especially since all the buildings were so new and modern. You can pretty much walk to restaurants, shops, or take public transportation.

Last five hours in Portland after a busy work weekend. Had to revisit Pearl district and I really love the area. Filled with cafés, shops, brick and cobblestone. So much charm to stroll through and the Portland wet cold somehow makes it all the more charming.

The Pearl District used to be a term that described several upscale bars, restaurants, and art galleries that moved into an otherwise uninspiring area of southwest Portland. Now it's the thriving, well-designed, beautifully gentrified home to those Portland yuppies who were sick of living in vegan co-ops on the east side. It's close to public transportation, within an easy walk of Northwest or downtown, and still hosts the fun and interesting (if less quirky than Alberta's) First Thursday Artwalk. This is also (unsurprisingly, I suppose) a great place to window shop for high-end furniture and homewares.

The Pearl District is the swanky district of Portland. It used to be a seedy, but gentrification has brought it new restaurants, new stores, and a new bar scene. It's a little fancy for my taste, and everything is a bit more expensive. However, if you want to see less hippies and hipsters, and see more yuppies in Portland, then this is the place to be.

Coffee shops, delicatessens, book stores, galleries and a wonderfully vibrant area to walk around in downtown Portland. Old warehouses refurbished into trendy lofts and businesses. Best part of visiting Portland!
