Getting to the market is key as there are three different sections. Start off with the first near to the water. Lots of arts and crafts, photography and ceramics. Food is located near the road entrance.

From there, crossing the street with the lights you enter into the main section with tightly packed tables and awnings from arts to zebras offering up just about anything you can imagine.

The third section had more food, beverages and fruit for handy carry and go. There were scents of many things in the air from food to soap.

I found Portlanders very friendly as eager to assist. I hope to revisit again and take it all in.

Gritty and colorful. Find local artists, buskers, Voodoo doughnuts, and a lot of Portland Weird at the Saturday market. Worth a visit for sure.

The Portland Saturday Market is an outdoor arts and crafts market in Portland, Oregon.[1] It is the largest continuously operated outdoor market in the United States.[1][2] It is held every Saturday and Sunday from the beginning of March through December 24,[1][2] in Tom McCall Waterfront Park underneath and also south of the Burnside Bridge, as well as within an adjacent plaza just across Naito Parkway, extending west to the Skidmore Fountain.[3] The market's hours of operations are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays, and 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m on Sundays, and admission is free.[2] The market is accessible by foot, bicycle, Segway, and TriMet's MAX Light Rail line which stops near the market at the Skidmore Fountain stop. The market has over 400 members and generates an estimated $8 million in gross sales annually. It has become a central economic engine for the historic Old Town Chinatown neighborhood, and attracts an estimated 750,000 visitors to this area each year.[4]

If you love adventure, make it a point to take some time. Never need anything, always leave with something. Eclectic, artsy, fun, just go. Just to see. Just go! Parking is not always easy. Be willing to walk. You won't be disapointed. Go, enjoy the Portland culture.

Great place to see locals and get farm fresh food to cook back at the cottage, and local made crafts including candles, honey, baskets and more. Stroll down row upon row of unique handcrafted items, chat with the artisans and choose from a plethora of exotic foods that will satisfy your appetite while listening to live music on the main stage. Open rain or shine from march through Christmas Eve. Sat 10-5: Sun. 11-4:30

Nice place to buy shirts from local makers. Lots of knick-knacks. Great place to bring dogs. When you need a break, hit up Opaline's for brunch. It's amazing. There are quite a few food vendors, and the smells are amazing while shopping. It's not too crowded, but strollers are a bit difficult to navigate due to the number of people. The sellers are not pushy or sale-sy at all. That makes for a very pleasant experience.

A famous attraction in Portland, the Saturday market actually runs both days of the weekend. It is extensive, covering several blocks, and offers anything you can think of. There are some great local crafts and products, food from all around the world, farm produce, books, jewellery and more. If you are in the city at the weekend this is a must see attraction.

If you are wanting to mix it up and participate in a cool weekend activity, Portland's weekend market is a little over an hour from The High Lonesome.

There is always so much to see that I always leave broke. It is quite convenient that the MAX runs right through the market!

Super cool thing to do on Saturdays. One of the larger local arts and crafts market, rows and rows of bling bling, paintings, games (the real game of life), portland themed tshirts. And of course, foodtrucks for some munches during the attendance. Really easy to find as it is right off of Burnside on the side of downtown Portland.

Unless you're specifically looking for an outdoor shopping experience full of knick knacks and trinkets, I'd skip this and check out the amazing Farmer's Market by the PSU Campus instead.
