The Golden Well has cozy & classic rooms. It is in a prime location near thePrague Castle. Nice views from its top floor restaurant.
A perfect hotel for couples desiring a little romance and elegance. This hidden gem of a property – and it really is hidden, you have to wind your way up a steep hill and through an archway to find it – was once the private residence of the Emperor Rudolph II. He had a private entrance that led directly up the hill to the Castle. Now that entrance connects to the hotel’s famed rooftop restaurant and passes the gardens and goes up to the Castle. The hotel has an award-winning chef, Pavel Sapik, who is a member of the Czech national culinary team. You can count on well-conceived, delicious dishes. There are just 19 rooms and they all come with lovely antique furnishings. Golden Well often tops travel lists as the #1 property. Understandably. Front desk service is great, mainly. The guy who tended to me was amazing. The other lady at the front desk was less inviting. But he more than made up for her reticence.
I knew that this was going to be something special even before I entered the hotel. You walk to it through little winding streets in the heart of the old Prague and you feel like you’ve travelled back in time. The location is just below the castle walls and the hotel has it’s own little gate to the castle. The view is just spectacular. definitely the best view you can get in Prague. The rooms are beautiful with awesome amenities like ipods, ipads and apple TV and you get the same view from your window as from the terrace restaurant that offers one of the best gastronomical experiences in Prague. You sit on the terrace and it seems like you're floating above the city and at the same time you're getting delicious food. What really makes the hotel even more exceptional is the super attentive staff. Trust me, you want to stay there.
The height, literally, of hotel loveliness. U Zlatne Studne, is up a winding hill on a tiny street. Book a deluxe room, those all come with a view, and if you are going to be on a hill in Prague, you want to have the view. An iPod, evening turndown service, all little goodies are accounted for here. The hotel’s restaurant is also one of the city’s best, thanks to the food, and again, that view. The terrace in summer is not to be missed, so when making your hotel reservation, make a restaurant one too, those need to be booked at least two weeks in advance.
The Golden Well has perhaps the most breathtaking view of the 100-spired city of Prague. This is a quiet, discreetly yet centrally located, cozy hotel, perched high above the city, directly under the Prague castle and has its own private walkway to the castle grounds. It offers a restaurant and terrace with couch seating by the spectacular view. Rooms are adorned with a feel of old style, quaint and luxurious comfort and include an iPad as well as a sitting room. Suites are available, while there is a common room with a TV and library, a PC business centre, and even a table with a chessboard. This is an ideal location to take romantic strolls from, which is also in excellent proximity to the gorgeous sights of historic Prague. This is simply an enchanting hotel.
