real reason to stay here out of convenience. The hotel is inside the park and very close to the falls-- you're pretty much inside the park and thus have the luxury of walking outside and along the trails to the falls. Just understand that the park closes at sunset and we were asked by a ranger to leave while we were on the trail just outside of the hotel-- such a bummer since this is when the animals are more active. The hotel itself is dated and old, rooms are very basic, food okay, everything overpriced, including wifi. Being part of the park means that you're pretty much locked into staying at the hotel on nights, though there is a bus into town that isn't too much of a hassle. We enjoyed the sauna/steam room in the spa/pool area, and the outdoor bar with the awesome views of Iguazu. We would've gotten massages at the spa, but they were fully booked for the time we were there- it might be worth it to head down there at beginning of your stay and make a reservation if interested. Our room on the first night was absolutely crawling with bugs, which I guess can be common since the hotel is situated in a national park. We asked to change rooms and instead a few maids came by, armed with cans of Raid. After asking once again to switch rooms, they finally switched us to a clean, bug-free room. Overall, staying at this hotel is worth it for those wanting convenience and ease on their trip. For more adventurous travelers, staying in town might be a more interesting and economical option.

The Sheraton was built in the brutalist architectural style and most things about it need to be updated. The owners definitely gouge and don't maintain the property well; however, the location is truly spectacular making it very easy to explore the park at-will on foot. With a monopoly on the location, easy to see why they don't invest sufficiently in the property.

Expect bad food, three star furnishings, old gym equipment, an unresponsive concierge, and very high prices. On the plus side, the views are fantastic, the pool is nice, and you'll be so impressed with the falls that you won't care at all about the hotel. It is worth the extra to book a room with a view of the falls. The best (top) floor is reserved for SPG gold / platinum members.

Note: the property is inside the park itself and far from town. It is possible to arrange a taxi to go out for dinner but it isn't easy. It is a shame to waste a meal in Argentina on this property but the falls are truly incredible and it is worth the sacrifice. I hated the property but would stay here again. For lunch, you can access other dining options in the park but these are closed for dinner.

There is no ATM at the hotel and ATMs at the park and in the Foz do Iguaçu airport in Brazil are very unreliable. You may need to have cash to cover transport costs.

Your view from restaurant, breakfast and room if you are lucky or the jungle view is definitely also interesting ... Spotting capuchin monkeys ... Close always your balcony doors :-).

Well situated inside the Argentine Side of the Park. This elephant in the jungle needs work. The pool area and spa have been updated, and more Falls view rooms have been added. However Jungle view rooms can look out at the concrete parking lot. If wanting to go to this location I highly recommend only the Falls view rooms. This is NOT a luxury property, but does have an excellent location within the park.

It would make your visit to Iguazu Falls so much more convenient if you stay at the Sheraton that is located right in the park on the Argentina's side. You walk out of the back door and end up right there in the park - before the crowds get there. And the best thing about it is that if you have a flight out of there late in a day, you can ask for a late checkout (4 pm), hike the trails the first half of the day, get back to the hotel, shower, pack and go to the airport. This gave us a chance to see as much as possible during our one night at the Iguazu Falls. We were there in March and it's still very hot and humid, so if you even spend an hour outside in the morning you would want to take a shower before taking your flight back.
It would be a plus to have a room with a view of the falls but the price difference may be not worth it because you probably won't spend much time in your room anyway, and the waterfall that you will see is pretty far away.
Giving high marks mostly for location; rooms are OK, nothing spectacular.

The pros: Only property right inside the park. There is a trail behind the pool that takes straight down to the falls.

Cons: Very isolated and you either need a rental car or catch a cab into town.

The onsite travel service is pretty hard to deal with. If you need to book any excursions, might as well go into town and book directly.
