Lovely park with a huge waterfall, lots of hiking up through the woods and a bridge across the falls. There's also a zipline, but it costs extra. So beautiful!

This 84 meter high waterfall is the highest in Quebec! The volume of water coming through the fall is truly amazing. There are staircases that allow visitors to view the falls from several different perspectives and a suspension bridge where you can overlook the waterfall.

This natural phenomenon is definitely not to be missed! At 83 m high (30 m higher than Niagara Falls) Montmorency Falls can be seen from all the way across the St. Lawrence River in Lévis! But the best views are from Parc de la Chute-Montmorency, where you can feel the full force—and spray—of the falls for yourself.

Take a gondola ride, hike one of the three Via ferrata circuits or cross the cove of the falls on the double zip line. In winter the spray freezes at the foot of the falls to form a huge “sugar loaf,” another intriguing Québec City attraction.

Amazing view and made for amazing photos. Suspension bridge was pretty cool and learned a bit of history about Quebec city. Went at the end of April so there was still a bit of ice left but was still a great experience!

Montmorency Falls is a lesser known but quite impressive waterfall in North America. This makes Montmorency a great spot to stop as it is not as popular as other lesser impressive falls such as Niagra. There are lots of stairs or a lift that will take you from the bottom viewing platform back to the top or vice versa.

Beautiful natural wonder!! Be prepared, you have to climb (and I counted) about 475 stairs!!! Well, depending what fork you end up choosing and this would be the one going away from the falls.

Well worth the hike up/down the stairs. Stop by the bottom to get sprayed by the falls - even if you're there for just a minute, you will get soaked, so be prepared!

One of my favorite sites of Quebec City.

Impressive falls only a short distance from Quebec City. Make sure to wear comfortable walking shoes.Well worth the drive, but give yourself time to enjoy the falls as there is some walking involved if you want the full view. Be sure to take the cable car to the top. More Photos: http://www.worldfortravel.com/2013/06/03/montmorency-falls-canada/

A pleasant surprise. I didn't expect much since I've been to the Niagara falls. The fall is not as grand as NIagara falls but stands 30m higher. There is the option of taking a gondola (if you are crunched on time) or walk up the stairs right next to the fall to get to the suspension bridge up top. On the ride up the gondola, you get a great side view of the entire Montmorency Falls. The view is spectacular from the top of the suspension bridge, with a complete view of Île d'Orléans Bridge and the Saint Lawrence river below. It's quite mesmerizing to watch the water fall from the top crushing into the bottom basin. There is a restaurant (Manoir Montmorency) next to a beautiful fountain and garden on the upper level with the falls where you can dine and enjoy the view at the same time. I would say to climb yourself if you have time (at least on the way down), the gondola ride is short and $10.5 roundtrip.

Just outside of Quebec City, the large waterfalls on the Montmorency River make a scenic day trip. The falls are surrounded by a park.

There are staircases that can be climbed in order to view the falls from several different perspectives. A suspension bridge sits over the crest of falls providing access to both sides of the park as well as a spectacular view. If you are not feeling energetic, there is an aerial tram (Funitel) runnning between the base and the top of the falls.

We went in the summer when an international fireworks competition took place over the falls.

At 275 feet high and 150 feet wide, Montmorency Falls are the highest in Quebec. The Montmorency River drops off of a cliff here, and creates one of the most dramatic photos ops in the area. In addition to seeing the falls through the mist near the bottom, climb up to walk across the bridge and watch the cascade roar back down to Earth. A great way to spend an afternoon while visiting Quebec City.
