This is where the insanely wealthy live - in fact, I think its one of the richest communities by square mile in the entire country. I'm almost scared to walk on the sidewalks! Beautiful golf courses, clubs, expensive restaurants, and outrageous houses - though they're usually hidden by opulent yardscapes and hedges (or entire forests.)

Thirty miles north of San Diego, you’ll find the rarefied small town of Rancho Santa Fe, a popular retreat for 1930s stars like Bing Crosby, with the mansions, world-class golf course, and horseback-riding tradition to show for it. Still, the vibe here is laid back. You can browse Main Street’s few boutiques and the Rancho Sante Fe Market, held each Sunday morning. At Torrey Pines State Reserve, take the beachside trail, and then walk back along the beach (you don’t have to go uphill on the way back). The recently renovated Inn at Rancho Santa Fe feels like a romantic country retreat, with cottages set along garden pathways. Kick back with cocktails on the croquet lawn in front, and take advantage of the inn’s full couple’s spa suite with a private outdoor courtyard including a shower and tub.

This is home to some of the wealthiest folks in the county. Gated communities with multi-million dollar mansions, lovely golf courses and still, close to Del Mar (the Beach). I was once given an opportunity to attend a party in one of these gated communities and was in shock at the wealth that was exuded within.

Beaches, bagels for breakfast, sun and surf, interesting railroad history, Del Mar & La Jolla nearby, beautiful homes.

Very wealthy residential neighborhood. For those who can afford it offers first class luxury, privacy and relaxed atmosphere. The area is so tranquil consisting mostly of large and lavish dwellings. Close to Del Mar Fairfrounds and Racetracks. The population tends to affluent, well-educated and married, including a high proportion of retirees. I would go back again even for few days just to relax. Highly recommended!!
