When I stepped into the Fasano Hotel, it was actually to use the bathroom. Nothing could have prepared me for the kitsch glamour that awaited me in the lady's bathroom. Without giving too much away, Hotel Fasano is elegant, decadent and its location right on Ipanema's main strip makes it a hot spot for trendy tourists and locals. The receptionists are immensely friendly and helpful in giving directions about anything cool going on in the area.
to you, oh Fasano.....i'd almost love to say i disliked it....but if i did, it would be the same as disliking a fabulous young and beautiful socialite shopping up a storm on Madison avenue in the middle of the work week....you'd love to hate her, but....she simply fabulous. So is Fasano - best view, best location, best pool, best crowd, spectacular restaurant, fun nightclub.....there is only one hotel like that in Rio. Yes, people can argue that Copacabana Palace is lovely (and it is, in its own way) but it has a different charm, location, feel. Of course its ridiculously overpriced and the service is incredible slow, but what can you do? No other place, so far, could measure up. So grab caipovodka com maracuja, glance at the envious onlookers and enjoy the most spectacular sunset in Rio.....i am sure you'll come back for another visit!
The Fasano is ideally located on the beach in Ipanmea, one of the most popular areas of Rio. This well-known Brazilian brand does a fantastic job carrying the same Italian style and ambiance, for which it has become famous, through this hotel. Chic, modern and masculine, it’s definitely a very cool, hip place to see and been seen.
The hotel first welcomes you into a beautiful and comfortable living room before you can chose to check in at the reception, dine at the restaurant or head down to the pub. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner while Barretto Bar offers swanky cocktails in an English pub-like setting in the evenings. Both are open to the public, but tend to attract a very upscale crowd.
If you chose to stay at Fasano, just plan to not spend much time in the room. The superior rooms are actually quite small but do feature a beautiful ocean view. The suites offer more space, but are still fairly cozy and dark. What you do stay at the Fasano for is the pool. The stunning infinity pool overlooks Ipanema and two brothers, the mountains that loom over the nearby beach. With a full-service restaurant also on the roof, this is really where you want to be.
I was fortunate enough to spend a day at the pool, which is of course boasts some of the best views in town. Though I have to say the service was not as attentive as I would have liked it to be, and the food was somewhat disappointing. Perhaps I had been too spoiled at the Copacabana Palace. However, I definitely see how this is a fantastic fit for travelers who want a very hip and modern scene to call home while in Rio.
Virtuoso amenities include upgrade on arrival, subject to availability, daily breakfast and $100 spa credit.
Fasano is very cool and today is the trend hotel of Rio de Janeiro, many celebrities stay here, located at Ipanema Beach few steps from Leblon, The hotel has a penthouse swimming pool with Atlantic views, an Italian seafood restaurant, Fasano al Mare, and bar, Londra.
The Fasano Hotel is a boutique hotel in Ipanema that is right across from a great beach, is close to fabulous restaurants and shopping and has spectacular views of the city. The pool is on the roof deck, so you can relax upstairs while taking in gorgeous views and sipping on inventive cocktails. The customer service is top notch and they even have a free personal trainer on deck! The Fasano is definitely not cheap, but worth every penny!
Designed by Philippe Starck, the trendy Fasano Hotel is one of the most prestigious and well-appointed destinations in Rio de Janeiro. All of its stylish guestrooms feature private balconies and marble bathrooms with rain showers; many rooms are adorned by stunning ocean views. The rooftop pool overlooking the Ipanema Beach is the center of attraction and the best place for cocktails in the hotel. Service is continually good, though slightly rigid, and the $20++ Internet rate is not justifiable.
This is a local, high class boutique hotel. Beautiful, even if for a drink.
