It's hard to find a good sushi place and this one has a big crowd every night. Definitely recommended for Riverside community members looking to eat good Japanese cuisine

I am not sure how this place is run but it is not organized....menu items were running out and wait times were quoted incorrectly. They also lose track of orders easily here. They definitely need to work on communication.

My friends and I are very big fans of AYCE sushi. We drove from Irvine to Riverside just to meet up with other friends and try this much talked about AYCE sushi joint. Was it worth the thirty minute wait (as we had to wait for the entire party to arrive before they would seat us)? YES.

I think we ended up having two separate menus for two different groups. We had a big order, ordering plates of salmon sushi and tuna sushi. We like restaurants that put a little amount of rice underneath a thick slab of sashimi, and Sushi Asahi did not fail. The salmon was melt in your mouth delicious, and the rolls were really good, as well. Out of my friends, I'm the only one who likes the Philadelphia roll, and the roll and the hand roll were both really good. There was a really big slab of cream cheese in that hand roll!

My friend swore that the Jenn Jenn Roll was to die for and we were like ... okay, let's try it ... and we were blown away! I think we ate so much that even the waitresses were surprised by how much we ordered. The Las Vegas Roll, Golden Tiger, Asahi Roll - all were really delicious. But after the rolls, we stuck to the sushi. Tuna, albacore, unagi, salmon ... all so delicious that my mouth waters just thinking about it. If you are ever in Riverside, you HAVE to stop by just to try Sushi Asahi at least once. I think the price is pretty decent for AYCE. Too bad they don't have one in SGV! They had so many people waiting after we were done eating that we quickly left to allow them to seat more people. There are a few AYCE sushi places that I really like, and I think Sushi Asahi is one of the best ones.

BEST AYCE SUSHI EVAAAAAAAA!!!!

Picture fatty, fresh, huge slices of your favorite fish... salmon.. mackerel... tuna... etc. etc. hugging a baby ball of rice. Once you're finished with your raw fish fix, get your sushi grub on with all the different choices of fried, saucy, salty, and spicy rolls or appetizers.

The restaurant fills up FAST, but the service is actually extremely quick.. they want you outta there as fast as possible!!!

Mixed feelings about this place so here are the Pros and Cons for me.

Pros - They have some pretty awesome Sushi and I think the price $23 AYCE (i think). They have a good selection of sushi to choose from and a good amount of extras included in the AYCE like teriyaki chicken, miso, mussels, gyoza, salad, miso.

CONS-
First of all its hit or miss with a lot of things with them. Examples:
Speed- sometimes there fast and you almost always have sushi at your table and other times its so bad we have to ask "wheres our food" after waiting like 20 minutes.
Quality - Quality is good but consistency not so much. Im not a fan or super spicy sauces of my sushi and I've had to send some back after they add it on (of course in this case the sauce is a extra touch the sushi chef adds).
Green Tea ice cream - tastes awesome but is only served on certain days, Ive been told fri - sun then when I come on the weekend its only weekdays :(.
Restrooms - there's only one and this place gets packed!
Seating - Seating sucks..... the tables are squished together to fit as many as possible. Outdoor seating DONT SIT UNDER THE FANS as we were sitting there outdoor area the other day I saw a little piece of fuzz landing on my food, so naturally I looked up. What I saw made me sick, the fan looks like its NEVER been cleans there a layer of dust piled pretty high has to be at least a 1/4 inch. Needless to say we all lost our appetite.
Service - they have quite a few great servers and a few really bad servers but they all seems to have the same goal get you in and out quickly. They sacrifice customer service for a fast turnaround in my book.

SO overall if I could rate the food I would say 4 stars, everything else 2 stars.

He did it again!

It's Asahi's second location and it's even better than the Riverside location

Lemme lay it down for you:

All You Can Eat Sushi (AYCE)
-eat all you can possible eat.
-stuff yourself.
-make yourself not able to walk out of this place.

The menu
-includes all of the typical rolls
-includes special rolls and EVEN more special rolls that do not exist at the Riverside location. For instance:
-The AUTUMN ROLL: 5/5 stars! My favorite one. It's a California roll topped with seared white tuna and a special sauce. SO good!
-SSAGJI: 4/5 stars! California roll with red snapper and masago. It's so pretty. But don't let that fool you. Ssagji actually means "mean person."
-MONKEY BALL: 3.5/5 stars! A deep fried roll with crab, mushroom, and spicy tuna.
-ESTER: 4/5 stars! Rice, crab, and shrimp tempura wrapped in soy paper.
-CORONA: 5/5 stars! Aka, the Riverside roll. Tuna, white tuna, and salmon wrapped in soy paper. My second favorite.
-DAVE'S SPECIAL ROLL: 3.5/5 stars! It's so special that I can't really describe it. But you can sure look at it:
-POPCORN LOBSTER: 4/5 stars! California roll with deep-fried lobster and shrimp. Crispy and warm with a side of cool.
-ANGRY EEL: 3.5/stars! Deep fried eel on top of a California roll.
-HEART ATTACK: 3.5/stars! Jalepeno stuffed with fish.
-SUSHI: 5/5 stars: fresh with a lot of fish and barely any rice. Salmon, eel, albacore, squid, octopus, red snapper, etc. You name it. LOOK AT ALL THAT FISH! http://www.yelp.com/biz_…
-GREEN TEA ICECREAM: 3.5/5 stars! Nice ending: stuffing myself with ice cream after stuffing myself with sushi.
-now don't fret now you Asahi fans. Nichelle, John, and all of those other rolls are here too!

Service
-5/5 stars! Top notch! The waitresses and owner stopped by our table frequently to see if we were okay. They were so nice and friendly and I felt like I was at home.

Other
-nice flat screen tv, a lot of parking, and relatively good pricing (dinner= ~$24 for AYCE)

OVERALL, hands down, THE BEST AYCE SUSHI EVER! I can barely budge when people ask me to eat AYCE sushi at some other place because I'm afraid that that place won't live up to Asahi and I'll end up wasting my money there. I seriously compare every sushi place I go to to this place. Asahi is just THAT good.

i came here for the ayce sushi. the rolls are good, but the raw fish was kinda lacking in quality. i came for a food club event, and prices were just about average... 20~30 for ayce food, plus maybe 10 bucks for the tall beers... ended up spending around 70 just for one person. service was really good though. we ordered, and it came out quick! overall, some place i wouldn't mind going if friends wanted to go, and i was local. but i think i will have to pass if i have to drive a distance again...
