The fact that the hotel was once a 19th century noblemans palace subtly shows through modern comforts: marble bathrooms and high ceilings are complimented by iPod docking stations and flat-screen televisions. Dine alfresco on the rooftop bar for Japanese fusion cuisine, or have a more elegant meal in the Overhall Restaurant.

Located at the heart of the Roman shopping district, The First is uniquely situated for luxury travelers to reenact the spending spree montage from Pretty Woman. No detail is left unconsidered at this opulent hotel, but the real star of the show is the magnificent rooftop terrace overlooking all of Rome below from seven stories in the sky. The First offers considerable discounts on their posh suites during the thinner months of Rome's off season, so plan your trip with some wiggle room.

To be honest, I couldn't find anything negative about this place (even though it is super expensive). The location is great, too. The hotel is a marvel and stunning on every level. The roof terrace is delightful. The rooms took my breath away, but I didn't even feel like I was in Rome the moment I stepped into the hotel. This hotel is definitely for people who are not on a budget. Everyone has their tastes when it comes to travel, but I didn't feel like I was traveling being here. The staff are super friendly and helpful, though, and the lounge bar is a unique spot to have a drink before heading out.

Great. If you are an artist, or if you enjoy bizarre works of art or original work, in this hotel you are surrounded by them. Starting from the hall, where you can find a big cow with some old telephones on it.
The service is great, everyone of the staff is kind and helpful. The rooms are big, equipped with every comfort and accessories. The multi charger is so handy... and you can rent a tablet if you need. The television seems a mirror in a frame, the porter tell us that many guests ask for television because they can’t find it! I love the walk-in closet, is so spacious. The roof is perfect for aperitifs, the sight is thrilling!

This 5-star hotel was meant for travelers who love modern luxury *and* modern art. Each room offers the best contemporary comforts (iPod docking stations, LED TVs), plus comes decorated with contemporary artwork and photographs by artists as well-known as Claudio Abate, Alessandra Amici and Michelangelo Pistoletto. It's great for foodies, too: The hotel's Michelin-starred All'Oro restaurant features innovative dishes and a full tasting menu.

This hotel has a really strategic position, just a few steps far from Piazza del Popolo. The hotel is really nice, with white leather sofas in the lounge and a really breathtaking terrace at the sixth floor.
