Description
Only this piazza's name, which means field of flowers in Italian, suggests its past as an abandoned lot. Since the latter half of the 19th century Campo de' Fiori has been the site of a morning market ... Read more
where you can find artichokes, pasta, and just about anything delicious and Roman. In the evening the piazza is very popular with the Anglo-American crowd, who come for aperitivo and stay into the night. In the center of the piazza, a statue of heretic Giordano Bruno stands guard in a spooky testament to his burning at the stake in 1600.

Im the moring one of the most beatiful and colourful openair market in Rome. One of the historical one ...
During the night one of the most popular nightlife spots in Rome: sit at the restaurants in the place for the dinner if you want to be a "genuine" tourist or grab a beer and seat around the statue of GIORDANO BRUNO (who was fired in this place for his anti-church thinking in 1600) watching people (Roman + tourists) passing by and if you like FILETTO DI BACCALA'(fried cod, a Roman speciality) go to the near Via de' Giubbonari and at the number 88 of Largo dei Librari enter DAR FILETTARO: for 5 euros take away your filetto or if you prefer wait for a table (it's a very small trattoria with very few tables) and sit down to eat the filetto and puntarelle (another Roman speciality: it's vegetables) they do not serve other dishes ...

Campo De Fiori ( Field of flowers) 2 minutes by walk. This is a public meeting point and various merchants come to this area. Farmer market in the morning until afternoon with many things to offer - from fresh fruit to pasta, to olive oil, to souvenirs. There are many great restaurants laying around, the square is offering great options for dinning.

This was my favorite place to eat dinner in Rome. The restaurants compete for your business by offering free alcohol. If you mention what other restaurants offer, they'll give you more! It is very tourist heavy, but it's an absolute blast.

Large market with every kind of food you could want to buy! In a historical area, as well (as is all of Rome). Great area to explore around the market, too - many small shops and restaurants.

Noisy, colourful ‘Il Campo’ is a major focus of Roman life: by day it hosts one of Rome's best-known markets, while at night it morphs into a raucous open-air pub. For centuries the square was the site of public executions, and it was here that the philosopher Giordano Bruno was burned at the stake for heresy in 1600. The spot is marked by a sinister statue of the hooded monk, created by Ettore Ferrari and unveiled in 1889.

The piazza's poetic name (Field of Flowers) explains what stood here before the square was laid out in the mid-15th century.

Looking for a fresh produce in Rome? Come to Campo de' Fiori! It's a great place to look and experience the locals life. Go taste some of the best balsamic vinegar and olive oil. I also had the best mozzarella cheese I've ever had. So fresh!

An uninteresting open air market that has some serious clean-up issues. I heard more English than Italian.

about 10 minut walking, in the morning it has a big farmer market and at night is very nice for an aperitivo or a drink

The square is nice enough. But the restaurants around seemed quite touristy and the restaurant we went to was not great in terms of the actual food.

Typical open air market where you can find fresh fruits and vegetables every morning.
At night it converts into a meeting point for young people from all over the world.

A place where people gather at night to go out. Worth it to see some bars, most people start their bar hopping here.

Rome's oldest market is held on Campo Dei Fiori (Flora's Courtyard, not 'flower market'). Here you will find the best fish in the city, fresh vegetables and attractively-piled fruit, spice.

A beautiful piazza with everything you could wish for. Beautiful archutecture. Pleny of great restaurants. A good gelato place. And as a student studying abroad my favorite, The Drunken Ship. Take it for what it is and you will have a great time. It is a bar full of study abroad kids. Makes for a great time as everyone is open to meet new people and have a great time. Have a simple long for me when you go.

This is Rome! Beautiful square, breath-taking architecture, essential to any walking tour of Rome. Probably best observed at night but there is more to do during the day.

Campo dei Fiori is a public square located in the Piazza Navona. The name literally means 'field of flowers' in Italian. While there are no flowers in the square per se, the mix of restaurants and shops will make a visit worthwhile.

Campo de' Fiori is overrun with young expats at night, but come early in the morning for the market, and be sure to grab a slice of pizza bianca at Forno al Campo de' Fiori, at the top corner of the piazza.

Campos are usually empty after 22:00, but this one in particular is quite animated with cafes and restaurants all around with finest taste; one of them is Obika, the mozzarella bar or just chill and smoke some shisha in the cafe next to it.
