I highly recommend the restaurant here at the Cosmopolitan Hotel. The seating is outdoors with an outdoor bar and in door Saloon. I had the Brazen short ribs and my husband had the short stacked tostada. Both full of Flavour and both highly recommended.

What a cute and unique hotel! Every room they have is a different style and you can choose the one you want (depending on availabilty) and I even heard they have a huanted room which is really cool! The room I stayed in with my boyfriend had a wodden tub which was by far the selling point of the room! The whole decor and vibe is an awesome getaway and gives you the feeling like you've completely stepped back in time (No TV in the rooms - which I actually loved)! Service (both the hotel and restaurant) was very friendly -- but they don't have someone at the front desk the whole night so check-in early! If you're looking for a hotel with a unique style and character - definitely look them up!

This place is like in Back to the Future when they go to the old west. It's so cool. Everything is very western and old timey, they even have a saloon bar and restauranr in the first floor of the hotel. The location is also awesome because you are smack dab in the middle of old town and walk arouns and see everything it has to offer.

The Cosmopolitan is a strange name for a historic old Mexican mission-style saloon, but the hotel's character more than makes up for its unbefitting moniker. Smack dab in the heart of Old Town historic park, you might not realize you can step on up the wraparound wooden stairs and check in to a place to sleep for the night. The downstairs saloon is preserved in its 1800s style splendor (as is most of the rest of Old Town), complete with a liquor cabinet, era-dressed bartender, and the skeleton of one of its barflies still mid-drink. The floors give away anyone coming from a mile away, the staircase creaks satisfyingly, mirrors stained with film and photographs yellowing with age adorn the dark brown wooden walls. The Mexican restaurant inside the courtyard serves up delicious homemade tortillas and classy margaritas under a canopy of wrought iron and vines, a perfect retreat from the more crowded Mexican establishments around the park. We visited around the time of Dia de Los Muertos, so the skull and dead theme was more apparent than I assume it normally is. Still, the ambience can't be beat in such a beautifully preserved building, a real step back in time to the days of the California missions - though I'm willing to bet my tequila this place is haunted up the wazoo.

A classic hotel with fairly basic rooms with Victorian furnishings & free breakfast. It is in one of San Diego's oldest buildings and is a real beauty. Located in the center of Old Town, the birthplace of California. It's a lovely place to stay or to stop by for a cocktail.

The Cosmopolitan Hotel is one of the historic, original adobe strutures that has survived the test of time. The hotel was built in 1869 by Don Juan Bandini, a Spainard who later became an American Patriot. The property is still a functioning hotel open for business.
