grandeur. They have a rooftop terrace with amazing views of Downtown, and an iconic neon sign. Despite being very unique and cushy, it does have to make some sacrifices due to the age. The room was small, and I was forced to rely on a window AC unit. There isn't modern HVAC to pump fresh air all over, and I could feel the stuffiness in areas. The elevator crawls from floor to floor, and the hallways are labyrinthine. I got lost taking the stairs from the first to third floor. Valet is $20, which is close to reasonable for downtown. You won't find any 24-hour street parking, but maybe a lot. Great location at the top of the Gaslamp district.

Situated right in the middle of Gaslamp, this older hotel is one of my favorite places I have stayed. The rooms are tiny, but cozy. And the whole feel is very old and homey. Great place to stay.

This is a really quaint hotel with an elegant lobby, and vintage/classic feel. You will definitely enjoy the location as you step out into the heart of the Gaslamp and enjoy the many dining and entertainment options nearby. They have a rooftop bar with stunning views and although it's not the top-tier hotel boutique hotel, it is classy and charming with very accommodating staff. We stayed in a huge suite, more like an apartment.. it was breathtaking!

My husband and I stayed at the Ramada Gaslamp on our honeymoon and we absolutely loved it! There is undoubtedly a classic feel and charm to this beautiful and historic hotel. It may not be the most "cutting edge" and "up-to-date" spot but I guarantee, what it lacks in todays expectation of luxury and comfort it definitely makes up for in historic CHARM! We had such a great time! We've decided to make the Gaslamp Ramada our home everytime we stay in San Diego!!

I like this hotel because of it's history and location. It's right in the heart of the Gaslamp Quarter and walking distance to everything. It is the old Hotel St. James, so the rooms are very dated and the elevator is VERY slow. Yet, there's a good restaurant attached to it and the coolest thing they offer is free access to their rooftop which allows you to see all of the Gaslamp and SD while taking food drinks up there as you choose.
Planned my buddy's bachelor party here and I wasn't disappointed.
