Diego's most highly acclaimed Italain cuisine and the casual atmosphere of an Tuscan osteria. Complementing Osteria Panevino's cuisine is an award-winning collection of domestic and Italian wines.Panevino… Bread and Wine… The essentials of life. Our restaurant is based on the look of a Tuscan farmhouse. The terra-cotta floor tiles were imported from Italy along with the colorful ceramics and marble. On display are various works of art depicting the small colonies in Firenze in the Medieval times. In our bakery, we prepare fresh bread, pasta and desserts. Together, these elements bring the atmosphere of the small trattorias and osterias you find in the hill towns of Firenze and all around the Tuscan region.

Classic Italian on 5th Ave in the heart of the Gaslamp Quarter. The home made pasta and osso buco are outstanding.

Absolutely the best Italian food I've ever had. Period. The spinach ravioli is to die for. The cannelloni is buttery and rich. The burrata is creamy and gooey and perfect, drizzled with a sweet tangy balsamic. Even the bread is a culinary experience, as it's homemade fresh and such a perfect blend of crusty and soft. I was in food heaven, and didn't want to come back to Earth. You really should enjoy a glass of wine with Italian food, but if you're not a fan, try the blueberry lemontini. It's amazing. I wish I lived downtown so I could come here more often!

Oldest, authentic Italian restaurant in Gaslamp San Diego. Panevino is a warm brick-lined locals' spot pairs refined Italian fare with a vast wine list, plus a patio. They are open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. You can’t go wrong with any of their homemade Italian dishes. Start your meal with homemade bread and their burrata appetizer. Then for a main dish try their spinach ravioli or their Osso bucco, which is arguably the best in SD. Save room for a blueberry lemontini or a glass of wine from their extensive wine list. And don’t forget about dessert. They make theirs homemade in house. If you can’t break away for a trip to Italy, you can definitely get your fix during a foodcation at Panevino! Prices are reasonable, the staff is accommodating, and the GM, Annalisa is so sweet!

Panevino serves good Italian dishes and brunch in the Gaslamp Quarter. I recommend getting the breakfast pizza.

A must try around the holidays: their special Truffle Menu, with 4 courses designed around superb freshly shaved black truffle topping. Call ahead and request it.

Excellent food and drink! My favorite Italian joint and it's in the heart of Gaslamp district in downtown. Pricey but worth every penny. I usually go with a restaurant.com certificate. I enjoy the lobster ravioli most but have tried a lot of pastas and main dishes. Try it all! Simply delicious...
