The Fish Market is a San Diego Original. With locations throughout the coast you can have your fish as fresh as it comes. Yummy fish tacos are a San Diego treat.

OYSTERSSS!!! CIOPPINO!!!

Oysters were divine! I'm still dreaming about them.

Cioppino was insanely large-sized and could feed 3 people with a large order. The saucy soup was flavorful, chunky, and thick. DELISH!

If any of those two words make your mouth salivate, you must go to this restaurant!

I would say it is pretty affordable. But what is even prettier is the view! It is right next to the USS Midway Museum.

You can get your tourist fix all rolled into one location.

The portions were great. The food was great.

I would suggest going another direction than ordering plain old fish, although it's called the Fish Market.

For me this restaurant is more about location and a little ambience. Located at the end of the parking lot right next to the USS Midway this restaurant sits next to the water with a view of North Island Naval Station, Coronado. If you want to sit by a window make a reservation. Some of the seats in the back don't have a view. When you walk in there is a small fish market and tucked away in a little corner to the right is a sushi bar.

Conveniently located next to the famous Bob Hope sculpture and the U.S.S. Midway aircraft carrier, and situated on the bayfront, the Fish Market has a casual downstairs and a more expensive upstairs.

The Del Mar Fish Market/Oyster Bar and Point Loma Sea Food Co. offer a wide variety of fishes and shell food, reasonably priced we love both places.

This is a great restaurant if you are looking for seafood. There is one downtown and I believe one was just built in La Jolla.

The Fish Market is a small California chain of Seafood Restaurants started back in the '70's. They now have 6 locations all in California, their own wholesale fish processing plant in South San Francisco, and their own fishing boats.

The restaurants have great wood decor, are usually packed, and have a great selection of the freshest seafoods. They all have a separate oyster bar and a retail market. The San Mateo and San Diego units have a separate upstairs (Top of the Market) restaurant that has a wider wine selection, great desserts, and more flair to the dishes.

I used to go to the San Mateo location all the time, often to get pasta and oysters with a nice white wine and sour dough at the Oyster bar. I have also been to the Santa Clara and Palo Alto locations, and they are all similarly and consistently good.

But this location is perhaps the best of the group. It is situated out on the water, just past Seaport Village in San Diego, within walking distance of the Convention Center, Hyatt and Marriott hotels, with a great view of the Navy Aircraft Carriers right out their large plate glass windows.

We had a party of 20+ in an upstairs room, looking straight at the water and Carrier. The staff took care of us seemlessly and efficiently, with a smile and professionalism. The food was fantastic! We shared several appetizers that were both beautifully plated and tantalizing to eat. The entrees were loved by all, I did not here one complaint or whine, and the wine selections might have helped, which were great too. Most were too full, but some partook in their great desserts too.

(Check out my pics for some apps and desserts)

I would recommend this Fish Market to locals, tourists, and business visitors who like seafood. It reminded me of the great food the Fish Market chain has offered for so many years and I look forward to going to another location soon. Maybe San Jose or Solana Beach next time!

The Fish Market is a great place for fresh seafood! They have a fine dinning experience upstairs and a more casual atmosphere downstairs. Both are fantastic. The Fish Market down town is on the water and very close to Seaport Village.
