I love Little Italy! Food, Farmer's market, Bocci ball tournaments, it's all here. Just 3 blocks from the bay in Downtown San Diego.

What better way to know a city than through its farmers markets. And the market in San Diego's Little Italy is no exception, with 150+ vendors convening every Saturday on West Cedar Street from Kettner Boulevard to Front Street. The options are endless—farm fresh produce, pastured eggs and poultry, meat, fish, flowers, local artisan food, plus food vendors selling paninis and crepes.

Come stroll through the Little Italy Mercato Farmers’ Market every Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., where over 200 tents line West Cedar Street from Kettner Boulevard to Front Street. The options are endless—you can enjoy an incredible selection of farm fresh produce, pastured eggs and poultry, meat, fish, flowers, local artisan food and more! Find food purveyors with sauces and relish, oysters, coffee beans, spices and more, and plants including orchids, fresh flowers, and bedding plants. Dine on crepes, paninis, green smoothies, lemonade and local chefs’ specialties best enjoyed with our live music. Visitors come from all over the world to indulge in our farmers’ market, whether it’s to get a taste of the just-caught sea urchin or to simply soak in the beautiful atmosphere. Mangia Bene!

One of the largest Farmer's Markets in San Diego. Veggies and bread and typical Farmer's Market fare abounds. But try some of the local eats from the food vendors. We recommend the empanadas!

Great Farmers' Market every Saturday. Lots of organic and local fruit and veggies, cheeses and meats, honey and olive oils. Plenty of food booths for grazing, and live music.

Little Italy is a wonderful neighborhood in Down Town San Diego with one of the biggest Farmers Markets in town. The weekly market has grown to about 200 vendors offering up certified organic local produce, meats and specialty items. Plan on spending a few hours (and some snacks for refueling) to walk the entire length of this sprawling market. Held every Saturday from 8AM till 2PM

My mom's a big fan of this farmer's market as her local one shut down and most of the vendors moved here. They offer real local products and highlights include Spring Hill Cheese and The California Olive (I think we might have single-handedly kept them in business as we send avocado oils to all our friends and family as gifts. So good!)

Every Saturday, I try my best to go to the local farmer's market in Little Italy. If you're the type that's gone to farmer's markets for a while, you will not be disappointed. If you're new to going and you go to this one, then try another, it may not hold a candle.

There's food galore, but I can tell you of where to get what I like. Fruits and veggies, eggs, meat- that's all arbitrary and just pick as you want. But I can tell you what I have been privy to. Terra Verde has preserves, sauces, and spices. They're AMAZING and food allergy friendly. The Cravory as far I know has always set up shop when I've been there. If you see places with peanut butters and peanut brittle, chances are that will cure a sweet tooth for sure. And, the apple cider...
The apple cider can usually be found at the fresh fruit stands and are fresh themselves. There is NOTHING like this cider unless you've been to an orchard. It may just look like juice, but get some, get some now! (Okay not really, wait until Saturday).

Tip: you're not SUPPOSED to bring your dog, but everyone does. That just makes this place all the more amazing to me. Everyone is friendly, no one is pushy, and if all else fails, Little Italy has some great places to eat for lunch.

Just down the street from San Diego's Old Town you will find the best Italian food in the city. Park, browse, and have some pizza and a glass of Cianti at Fillippi's before heading back to the beach for sunset!

Little Italy is a great place to explore and walk through the shops. There area also plenty of great restaurants. During Farmer's Market, it is even better as you have plenty of street vendors to meet and taste their specialties.

Next to the Ocean Beach Farmer's Market on Wednesday evenings, our personal family favorite. Organic foods, diverse foods from many cultures, artisanal offerings. Winner!
