there is much to do, with the 68 acres it encompasses. Here, you can surf, whale watch, ride your bike, walk, or simply relax. At Sunset Cliffs, you can provide that special someone with a romantic nature-based weekend getaway, while not straying too far from some nearby restaurants and inns. You can also challenge yourself with bike trails that range from beginner to advanced. You should definitely check out the San Diego River channel, as that trail is easier, but for a more challenging bike ride, start at Sunset Cliffs Boulevard South towards the Cabrillo National Monument ($3 fee) and explore the tide pools on your way!

WOW!! Best sunset I have ever experienced!! The hike, led by my hostel guide, was an easy hike and the view just kept getting better and better! I went to see a sunset every night.

Beautiful place to walk along the cliffs (stay on the trails!) and catch some surfers and sunsets.

This is a stunning beach with the most picturesque cliffs that's a must see when you're in SD. Plan for a whole day to enjoy the sunset as well. Parking is easy to find and plentiful around the residential area. Make sure to explore the hidden grottos and ask locals about secret paths that aren't visible as you travel down to the ocean.

Despite the never ending staircase and rocks of death to get to the bottom, this place was so incredible. Once I was at the bottom, I felt like I was standing on an old volcanic ground. The water came right up to my feet and the breeze felt amazing. It was about 100 degrees at the top but so incredibly relaxing and cooler at the bottom. I could've sat on my rock and watched the waves for hours. One great thing was I was able to sit on a rock facing away from the sun and still have an amazing view so there was no headache from squinting. I would sit here and let my stress melt away every day if I could.

Sunset Cliffs runs from Ocean Beach to Point Loma in San Diego. This is a nice place to walk along the ocean especially near sunset. There are a number of places that you can walk down to the ocean, but there really aren't beaches down there. You also much be very careful about the waves. You can see no waves for 15 minutes and then BAM!, one comes out of no where. So, be extra careful with your camera, cell phone, and electronic car keys.

A beautiful view of the ocean waves. Sit down inside your car with the windows open or outside one of the benches to feel the ocean breeze and watch people walking, taking a dive and surf. A place to enjoy a walk down to 105 steps to the tide pools.

Best view of the Sunset in all of San Diego! It's perfect for a drive, walk, run, bike ride, swim - anything, all along the coast! Whenever I have friends visiting, this is always on the top of the list on where to bring them. I highly recommend it!

If you are unfamiliar with San Diego, and a lover of the scenic outdoors, this is a must-have on your to-do list. Romantic sunsets on burnt orange horizons, frothy blue water crashing into the cliff-side below, park benches and winding trails, make this the most scenic spot in the whole county.

While you are backdropped by what are now multimillion dollar houses, Sunset manages to keep a lot of the sleepy, small, ocean paradise vibe that San Diego is known for. All development is off of the waterfront, it is an public space toward the end of the Point Loma peninsula, and it's away from the city (can't even see it). While not crowded, the neighborhood is always active with people running/walking the trails, and enjoying the scenery. There is great, even, pavement here that stretches for miles if you want to get a good run in.

In Point Loma, Sunset Cliffs Natural Park is 68-acres, atop sea cliffs, overlooking the Pacific Ocean. It is bordered by the Pacific Ocean on the west, Ocean Beach on the north, Catalina Blvd. and Santa Barbara on the east.
The main street of the area is Sunset Cliffs Blvd. The area is named for sheer cliffs which border the ocean. There are surfing spots below the cliffs. The Cliffside trails are popular for walking and for watching the sunset, but are undeveloped and can be dangerous.

The address for this was incorrect or my GPS was on crack. I ended up finding another location to see the sunset nearby and it was awesome.

Gorgeous views of the sunset from these cliffs. You have the option of staying on top of the cliffs or venturing down a bit closer to the water. Just be careful of incoming waves.

What you get is an unobstructed view of the setting sun, brief, but beautiful and relaxing.

One of my very favorite places for a scenic run or walk! Plenty of spots along the way for either a picnic or a yoga session with the most gorgeous setting. If you're feeling adventuresome there are spots where you can explore down on the beaches.

An amazing view of the sunset. You can walk along the cliffs for a small hike. Gets pretty windy during fall and winter, so bring a jacket just in case.

Obvious reason for the name! Go during low tide and check out the tide pools to catch a glimpse of marine life. Great spot for sea glass hunters during low tide.

Sunset Cliff Natural Park has lots to offer. You can walk, run, jog along the cliffs, and surf, kayak and fishing on the rocks. You can walk or drive a little bit and you'll hit the Ocean Beach Pier and downtown of OB.
