The Hyatt House is lovely!
Breakfast is included with all rooms -- a hot buffet with a made to order omelette window, fitness center, and the heated pool is open year round.
When you book, if it's in your budget, ask for a suite. They have a living room and kitchenette and it adds a lot of square footage for spreading out. When I walked into mine -- room 617 -- I felt like I was coming home to a classy apartment I always wished I had.
On the 6th floor in the back, it had nice views of the hills. There are Amtrak lines that run just behind the hotel, but on the higher floors you don't really hear them too much.
The restaurant is open for breakfast (included) and for dinner, but not for lunch.

This hotel feels very luxurious, but isn’t pricey. The rooms here are huge and artfully decorated. The HYATT House Emeryville is a great place to travel with family or friends with lots of space to hang out and watch TV, entertain in the in-suite kitchens, and has a great pool, hot tub, and airy fitness center. All ages would find something to appreciate. It’s in a very central location in Emeryville, right near the Public Market, the Emeryville Amtrak train station, and downtown. The hotel also offers a complimentary buffet breakfast, and an excellent bar/restaurant with outdoor seating and fire pits. Overall, great value and makes for a relaxing getaway whether you’re traveling or local. It’s not far from San Francisco and a stone’s throw from good shopping centers, public transit, and local restaurants.

Besides for the school traffic from UC Berkeley, I really don't have anything to complain about. It is close to a lot of shopping and good restaurants. Located right by the actual bay, it really is a great place to stay in the bay area. This Hyatt House has a more modern look than all of the other ones I stayed at. It has a kitchenette and a microwave that is also an oven. I totally recommend for families and business travelers.

Wow, this Hyatt House is larger than the one in San Jose that I've stayed at before. We got a Bayview room, which has a view of the Bay from the balcony and there's also a kitchen and living room. I definitely recommend the upgrade if staying here; it's only maybe $30 more than a regular room. Amtrak is also right by the hotel, so you'll want to get a room that is on a higher floor, FYI.

We got in after dinner and the people at the front desk were nice. Check-in process was easy. It was sunset, so I headed straight to the balcony to snap some pictures. Stunning view at night!

In the living room, there was a large TV with sofa. In the bedroom was another smaller TV on a swivel table. The bathroom was also pretty big. I have no complaints about cleanliness or anything about the room. The location is great -- Emeryville Public Market is within walking distance if you don't have a car; you can walk to shops and restaurants. If you have a car, Downtown Berkeley is only 3 miles away. We made the short drive to get some dessert and walk around.

Free wifi and complimentary breakfast in the restaurant on the first floor (Emergy Grille). I liked the coffee...the breakfast was your typical American breakfast -- choice of cereals, scrambled eggs, fried potatoes, sausage links, pancakes, toast, small muffins, orange/apple juice.

I guess their transformation from Woodfin Suites to Hyatt House is somewhat complete.

I've been here a total of two times for work. The first time - they couldn't give me a suite as I had booked, but instead a regular room. The second time I had a suite - which comes equipped with a kitchen, regular size fridge, dishwasher and all.

In the regular room, there was an old tube tv, a nice desk and chair, bed and wardrobe. The weird thing was - i needed ice, but there was no bucket and there was NO ICE MACHINE? I guess with everyone else having kitchens?

I had to call the front desk to get some ice and some guy brought it up to my room in a plastic pitcher.

The bed was nice and comfy.

My room rate came with free wifi. Apparently this is not the norm for most hotel guest. There was a guy arguing about wifi in his room and how he had to pay 15 bucks or something like that.

The hotel is right next to some train tracks, so in the morning I did hear the train, but there was no shaking of buildings and it seems to be Amtrak only (?) because there were no trains during the evening.

Since I have gotten a chance to be in a suite, the "regular" hotel room is like a THIRD of the size of a suite. It was a true suite, separate bedroom from living area (that has as decent kitchen) even with doors. Two separate tv's. The only thing that sucks with places like these is that people are allowed to cook whatever they want in their rooms, so unfortunately, I'm sure even with housekeeping trying to douse the place with air freshener, the suite smelled like fish.

The other thing - NO ROOM SERVICE. There is a restaurant downstairs that you can order to-go from but you have to go pick it up yourself. I guess being that most of the rooms have kitchens, why would they need room service.

This is a really nice hotel. The rooms are very spacious and nice with a great little kitchenette. I try to stay here when visiting the area but sometimes the rates are a fair amount higher than other nearby locations and at times that draws me away. If you can get a good rate I would stay here out of any of the hotels in the area. A really nice breakfast and good hotel restaurant, along with a pool, gym and hot tub that are nice.
