Nice hotel that's newly renovated. Parking is an arm and a leg. Comfortable beds. Good service. Lol at your bill carefully, hidden charges. Overall, good experience.

Conveniently located on Nob Hill the Stanford Court is too large to warrant the "boutique" label it gives itself. Notwithstanding a subtle "up-sell" attempt to a higher priced room when we checked in and a limited, additional cost breakfast buffet the hotel is pleasant enough and does offer fast Internet access.

Haven't been in a long time but it was beautiful, and in a great spot. Not the cookie cutter 4 Seasons type, more intimate.

This was a nice hotel. It is not the most extravagant but it is very nice and very comfortable. There is a restaurant in the lobby and no continental breakfast which was a little bit of a downer. But overall it was a good place to stay at during our stay in San Francisco

Marble on marble on marble!

Entering the Renaissance Stanford Court through the frosted glass doors (I was semi-sketched out on entering because I was worried someone would be rushing out, smacking me in the face with the door since you can't see through the glass), you come upon a long, elegant hallway/lobby that flows seamlessly into their restaurant, the Aurea.

The rooms at the Stanford Court, when compared to other similar hotels in the area, are not as big and a bit more cramped...still very modern and stylish inside though. Although it is extremely convenient to be located right next to 3 cable car stops, when you get low enough on the floor levels, it can be a problem for those who don't want to hear the sounds of the city.

Even though the rooms were a bit smaller, the same cannot be said for their fitness center...it is humongous! The huge window panes let in a lot of sunlight and it is one of the most equipped gyms I have seen in the city.

Really great hotel. The rooms are large and comfortable. The restaurant and bar are fun too. Ran an event here. The staff were the most helpful and attentive that I have ever worked with. Although it is a shame that the hotel does not have a swimming pool or hot tub. The Renaissance is situated on Nob Hill, a short trek from downtown.

The Stanford Court Hotel is one of the lesser known of the famous hotels on Nob Hill. (The Fairmount and Mark Hopkins being more reknowned). It is similar in that it has a lot of old world elegance, with a decorative facade, and old world charm and grace in the lobby.

The rooms are elegant, but not luxurious in comfort and amenities due to the age of the building. The Marriott Hotel Group, under the Renaissance Hotel brand, took over this property years ago and remodeled it to try and revitalize it to attract new customers.

The location is superb if you want to be on Nob Hill, and this is probably the least expensive choice for that venue, typically about $200 or more depending on availability and season.

You can walk down the hill to restaurants on Sutter or nearby streets or a little farther to Union Square for world class shopping. Or better yet, take the Cable Car down Powell street to get the full San Francisco experience. Get off on Geary and walk 1 block west to the theater district.

Or take the California Street Cable Car down to Grant, and walk into Chinatown. Or go down a little farther to California and Montgomery to be in the downtown financial district. Or, go north on another Cable Car to Fisherman's Wharf/Ghiradelli Square and the cable car roundabout near the Buena Vista, inventor and home of the Irish Coffee.

Parking for check in or valet is limited, with only a few spaces at the entry way in cramped quarters. Better to take a cab to this Hotel.

You can get old world charm and personal service and your Marriott's Frequent Guest points all in this one Nob Hill location.

My previous stay was way back in 2005. Back then the hotel was nice but definitely in need of a serious upgrade. The rooms were dated and had the feel of just an old tired slipper forgotten and buried in the back of the closet.

This past weekend we decided to clean out that closet and dust off that slipper and gave it another shot. And just like the 49ers on Saturday the Stanford Court has made an amazing comeback.

Newly upgraded from the lobby, the bar to the rooms this hotel is once again modern, fresh but still retains it's old San Francisco charm. Large spacious rooms with comfortable beds and huge high definition television sets welcome you in for the night. The location of course is perfect, centrally located on top of Nob Hill, you can hit any corner of the City within a few minutes.

There is still some room for improvement. The pillows were a little flat and did not offer much support and the shower fixtures might need to be replaced but I have had worse.

For the neighborhood this hotel is a bargain. I was able to book a room for under $170 per night right on the hotels website. And there are plenty of other weekend packages that include breakfast or dinner along with excursions to the Wine Country.

Quiet rooms in a quiet neighborhood make for a restful night.
