A venue for holiday parties, corporate functions, and meetings - it's called City View and it definitely has a view out towards the Moscone Center and the skyline. Recently they held a Spanish wine night and food pairing festival! Check out what they have coming up next!

I love coming to the Metreon to catch a movie on the huge IMAX screen. The Metreon also has some eateries and a Target in the building. It's a close walk to the Moscone Center and the downtown shopping area.

Good movie theaters in the center of downtown. Lots of good fast food restaurants on the first level. On the very top floor there is a space called cCtyscape that has private events.

The Metreon has undergone some serious changes in the past few years with the Westfield taking over, and I have to say that it is better than ever. The theater remains in tact, and the food court has been nicely updated. The City Target is the icing on the cake.

I love watching IMAX 3D movies here. The screen is so big but so clear, the movies come alive!!! Overall, it's an awesome experience to come to the Metreon and enjoy a blockbuster flick!

Maybe the most popular cinema in SF, Metreon is always packed. If you want to see the latest film in the huge IMAX theatre, book well ahead or be prepared for a long queue on arrival.

Used to jogging to this place during lunch time every day. Loved sitting outside on the grass, enjoying the beautiful SF city view.

But the inside became boring after the Sony PS center closed. The movie theater was so so with sub-par sound quality.

Ever since Metreon got bought out by Westfield and opened up the city's first Target, this place has gone from ghetto to fabulous. The AMC theaters are still alive and kicking, being home to one of California's largest and best IMAX theaters. The food court has a plethora of yummy eats and you can't beat the free WiFi and modern work tables. Metreon's City View is still a spectacular venue and great for large events. Thank God for the facelift!

Pretty nice theater with many shops and restaurants around. The only downside is that half of the movies are showing in his particular location. The other half are showing at the theater in the San Francisco Westfield Mall, which is located down the street.

The Metreon is a great place to watch movies and very walkable if you're staying downtown. They also have live shows in here, a food court and I heard a new Target is coming soon as well :)

A fun place to visit, but a little pricey. All the latest movies are showing there...many in the Imax theatre. There is a video game arcade upstairs with video bowling...pretty fun. The Wild Things play area was very fun for my children.

Being that I have a spoiled palate for fresh sashimi-- back and forth from HI-- I don't really eat at many sushiya in the Bay (but if you do my top3 are: Koo, Okina and Oyaji). So when we stepped to the bar at Sanraku around 330, yes odd hours for a sushiya but we are in the oddity that is Metreon...this was more about something holding us over for dinner..we were WRONG!

From the start the Itamae was cool, tipping us off to all of the seasonal musts like sanma & kamazu, and the aji, hamachi, & kanpachi was looking mouthwatering so we jumped on those too. Decided to pair with the Akitabare for me cos I just love my dry nihonshu and masumi okuden for Con cos she likes the smooth blend. The pours were well worth the $14 price tag for each.

Shokunin whipped out all the nigiri with precise timing and in the right order for us to enjoy all the varied flavors they had to offer us. The barracuda was a first for both of us and it was a perfect blend of seared freshness and the spanish mackerel had to be re-ordered...UMAI!!!

Especially loved that the senior itamae would come out to see the good time we were all having during what would normally be dinner prep hours for every other sushiya in the city. If you haven't watched Jiro Dreams of Sushi yet, well you would know what I am getting at here.

Gogobots! Roll out!!!

I can't really judge the quality of the food because this was the first time ever that I ate sushis. (At 36, can you believe it?) But at least it was good enough because I went for sushis 4 more more times of the next 10 days :-)

There really isn't that much to do in the Metreon besides grab some pub food at the restaurants or watch a movie. I think there is a Sony store in there but that's about it. That said, they do have some cool events every so often that coincides with the release of a Sony product. I got some cool video games souvenirs they were giving out at a Kingdom Hearts event.

A very sleepy mall, once the main attraction for tech geeks to go to. When it was owned by Sony, I used to love coming here to see all the interesting geeky things to see from anime shops to video games. The place has since started losing money and the excitement of the place declined.
Now they are renovating the Metreon to hopefully revive the excitement it once had. Most of the customer base has moved across the street to the Westfield mall.

Nice, but pricey for what you get. Generally the food inside is decent and the arcade is pretty fun. The real entertainment is the IMAX theater. No longer an absolute must-see for tourists, but definitely a fun place to stop by if you have time to kill.

Metreon is very modern center, with a few restaurants, a Sony Store and the AMC movie theatre where the third largest 3D screen in the world is located. Downstairs there's also a restaurant called Jillian's, which also has a nice bar and pool tables.

I used to love going to the Metreon as a kid. Growing up in the South Bay, it used to be a treat when my mom would load us all up in the car to spend a night playing around in the Metreon's pretty epic arcade set up. It hasn't been the same since then. Sure, there are still a couple of good stores and I love the IMAX theater there. There are a couple of decent places to eat in the food court. Still, it's never quite been the same. I hope it picks up again a little when they open the Target.
