Unexpected find. Relaxing park right in the center of a busy financial district. Lots to do in this area.

Yerba Buena is the epitome of all that is cool and hip.

And the perfect destination for an art seeker on a Thursday afternoon after a few exhausting days of conferencing. The gardens itself is relaxing and plenty of people can be found here on a nice sunny day and sometimes events of festive nature takes place here.

A little oasis on the heart of San Francisco! Grab a coffee or lunch and park yourself outside and spend some time people watching - you won't be disappointed. There are plenty of festivals and performances happening throughout the year. Helpful hint: there is a butterfly sanctuary on the NE corner of the park, they aren't always there, but when they are it's great.

Yerba Buena Gardens isn't as secret as some other gardens and parks in the city, but the trees, waterfalls (fountains), Children's Discovery Garden, and sculptures make it a beautiful spot to sit, eat, walk, and relax in the middle of SF. There are great views from the park and there is a lot to do nearby. Plus, it's easy to get to by public transportation. Sometimes being a little less secret and a little easier to get to is worth it.

Situated near the Moscone Center and the central SF shopping district, the Yerba Buena Gardens are a breath of fresh air in the urban center. I stopped by when a poetry reading was going on and enjoyed a picnic lunch in the sunshine :)

When I used to work in the city, my office was only a couple blocks from Yerba Buena Gardens. If you get lunch to go, Yerba Buena Gardens is a great spot to get some sunshine and fresh air while chowing down on your grub.

Whilst heading over to the children's creativity museum we stumbled on to a free (hooray!) children's concert series at the gardens. I've since discovered they host them every Friday during the summer at 11 and 12.30. We then discovered a fabulous children's playground attached to the gardens. We filled a morning before even stepping foot inside the museum.

Yerba Buena Gardens is a beautiful lush garden located near Moscone Center in SoMa. There's ample grass to lay out a blanket and have a picnic, a pretty waterfall fountain you can walk behind, and throughout the spring and summer, they host loads of free performances including circus acts, live music, puppet shows, plays, etc.

Around the gardens, there's plenty of places to eat and drink, as well attractions like a carousel, an art museum, an ice skating rink and a bowling alley. This is a really nice garden to stroll through or a great place to take your lunch and set up a picnic.

Love eating and people watching on the green lawn with a waterfall in a background. I find this to be an effective way to unwind. Taking a walk around, especially on a more grey day, is another good way to enjoy this oasis.

I love this place. On a beautifully sunny day, you can find people enjoying lunches on the grass. Head across the street to the playground that has been highly kid-approved. It's easy to spend a day there.
