Great Brazilian restaurant in town town San Mateo. Even it is huge, it still felt comfortable and cozy. They offer a fixed menu with all you can eat. Really yummy salad bar and then they come by the table with fresh steak and meat cuts. Like a dim sum but with meat.
Lunch menu is half price from dinner.

This is always a fun place for dinner with friends and family. I have to remember to not eat so fast. Take my time and enjoy. Also not to fill up on the side dishes. Leave room to try all the meats

Brazil in San Mateo as I would say. I have originally tried the Espetus on Market street in San Francisco and happy to see that they opened one close to home in San Mateo. Lunch buffet was about $35 per person and dinner was $56.

Bring your appetite and your wallet! Espetus is a meat lovers dream - like dim sum the servers keep coming to your table until you tell them "no more." The Brazilian BBQed meats are delicious and decadent. Filet mignon, tri tip, garlic covered, bacon wrapped, BBQ pineapple, chicken, shrimp, lamb, and pork. Fried bananas, polenta, and cheese bread, as well as a salad bar round out your dinner. The desserts are great too if you have any room left. Come hungry and be prepared for a night to remember.

Wear stretchier (than normal) pants because you will leave feeling full after you consume a few pounds of perfectly cooked steak. This Churrascaria not only boasts great cuts, but also fast friendly service. I typically don't save much room for the salad bar at any steakhouse but I couldn't help myself from trying the mango salad. It was tasty! The dessert was also amazing. The 6 of us shared the tres leches, chocolate mousse and dulce de leche ice cream. All were very good with the tres leches being my favorite. I'll need the next month to work off this dinner but I will definitely go back again!

Very high quality meat! This place is one of the better Brazilian steak Houses I've been to, mostly because of the delicious side dishes!

When I went to Espetus, it was the first time that I had tried a churrascaria. While I'd recommend saving the space for the delicious meat samplings, they have a pretty legit salad bar. They've got delicious drinks. Oh yeah, and they've got good meat. Having done other all you can eat adventures, I thought it would be a simple feat to tackle the all you can eat meat. I was wrong. This place defeated me. Yet, somehow, I don't know if I'd have it any other way.

$50 for AYCE Brazilian steaks. Though the day I had it, my metabolism also died, very much related.

Meat lovers will definitely like this place. If you are familiar with the "Brazilian churrasco" - a all you can eat meat paradise, you need to go to Espetus. They have a great selection of meat and the salad bar is amazing.

Service is also great and they are really organized. Make sure to reserve a table so you don't have to wait a lot for a table, specially cause people take a while to try all the different meats.

In my opinion Espetus San Mateo is nicer then the one in SF, the San Mateo place is bigger and everything else is better (from food to service and parking), definitely worth a visit.

As a born and raised Brazilian I must say that this place does not disappoint. Everything is really good and tastes like home. Highly recommended.

The boys love their meat, and so, when this place opened right by our house, we bookmarked it and knew that the visit would not be far behind.

Came here with our favorite neighbors/friends for our annual August celebration (yup, last August, I know, I'm a little backlogged with my reviews). The reviews seem positive, and Espetus in the city has always had a good name as well.

But, I guess maybe we were expecting a bit too much... It turned out to be, just ok. The caipirinha was not strong enough, and the meats, well, if you got the crust bits, it was very salty, and if u got the non crust bits, there's little flavor. They didn't re-roast/re-season like I've seen at other places to give every piece equal flavor, yet, their meats were all medium well to done. What's up with that?

The chicken hearts were amazing though.

Don't get me wrong, I didn't hate the place, just didn't love it. I may give it another try one of these days when I'm craving massive amounts of meat.

A variety of meats to choose from and a very big salad bar. I love good salad bars, which bumps it up from Pampas.

I actually like this place quite a bit. Parking is open, and there isn't a problem with coming to the restaurant when it's too crowded. The meat was cooked very well. It's worth the 55$ if your hungry and looking just to eat meat. I would not load up on the sides, and go straight to the meat.

One word to describe this Brazilian restaurant: Delicious!
It is a great place for a group get together.
The juicy yummy meat kept on coming. My favorite were the beefs and the Parmesan pork! Yummmmy. The side dishes are also very good and the waiters are super nice.
I gave it 4 stars just because the toilets had no trash cans ... Weird! Only a basket for used paper but not trash cans in the restrooms themselves.
We had lunch there which was cheaper than dinner.
Tu sum up, it was great food and I will go back there!

Hearty meal with lots of meat but I can't help to think it was overpriced. If you really care about the quality of the meat you are probably going to be disappointed. A lot of the cut were dry. Unless you can get a inner slice of meat, most are too well done. Nothing really impressed me except the cheese bread, the chicken heart and the grilled pineapple.

I was not happy with the quality of service either. I told our server we were celebrating a birthday but they have done nothing. No birthday song. No candle on the dessert. Nothing. Perhaps it just slipped their mind but I had never had this happened at other restaurants. Of course, I didn't realize they forgot about it until they bring out the dessert. There was really no point in reminding them.

They did have a very impressive dessert menu. One of the most extensive one I have seen and the dessert was good. However, I am still bitter with my experience and probably won't return anytime soon.

I first went to Espetus (es-peh-too) in SF on Market Street for a huge wonderful birthday - mine! I've also been for lunch, which is like half-off till 3pm. I enjoy lunch more as it is less crowded and that buffet bar is mine, all mine! My friend from capoeira class, brasileiro of course, used to work there and recommends to eat throughout the day prior to dining here. Reason is to dilate your stomach so you can eat a lot!

The various cuts of meat, the handsome & hospitable servers, and even if you do not eat meat, the buffet is a rich array of Brazilian vegetable dishes. Although an uncomplicated dish which I also enjoy baking, pao de queijo (cheesebread) is something I can eat all day & night.

Its funny, I was just here the other night. On top of which, I had always wanted to go to their original branch in SF but I could imagine that it is equally delicious.

This place is off the main street so there's ample parking. The space is wide and very open. They have their bar off to the right and main seating to the left of the hostess. And last I checked there was a back room for larger parties. Down the middle toward the back is the salad bar. Though I know nothing of the salad bar, I can vouch for the meat that is delicious. I'm not sure whether they do this everyday but during happy hour there was a plate of chicken and sausages. I hope they do that all the time.

More importantly, their caipirinha is very refreshing. Hell, I had 3 of them.
;D

Note- if you're particular about your what cachasa your caipirinha is made with leblon.

Best Churrascaria in the Bay Area, with location in San Mateo and San Francisco. I like San Mateo better due to easy parking without worry of a ticket.
