down into what locals might describe as “chilly,” but that the high season tourists from North America and Europe (who hang around from late November through April) will still find pleasant. March through May is a great time to catch good weather and fewer crowds before the rainy season kicks in in June. Those who, like the Wicked Witch of the West, would rather not get wet, should skip the period between August and October, which marks the peak of both the rain and the hurricane season.

I've been here for a couple months now, and every day am reminded of just how lucky I am. From the white sand beaches and crystal blue waters, to the piping hot fryjacks, this island continually tries to steal my heart.

Golf carts, bikes and walking in town. Great local Belizean dishes, beachside tropical town, ... Fun area for a vacay in Central America. Con - Lots of trash around the streets and beach.

We went during the off season so the island was pretty empty. You can rent golf carts to take you around which we thought was pretty fun. Since it was the off season most places were closed. There were still some shops to visit and places to eat. Most of our excursions were done in the water which is just beautiful. Fine sand and clear water...can't beat that.

This great little island is a 15 minute puddle jumper flight from Belize City or an hour ferry ride. It sits on the second biggest barrier reef on the planet. Most of the hotels have a small dock and boats can be used as shuttles or they will pick you up for any sort of sea excursion (diving etc). The town has a ton of little restaurants and pretty decent night life. Even though everything in San Pedro IS walk able, it's only about 5 dollars to take a taxi anywhere in town. The northern half of the island has some more exclusive and isolated resorts but the area is not paved at all and there is a small toll. I would recommend renting a golf cart at least one day to explore the entire island, which is not difficult to do. Even though you are on an island, you can easily organize mainland excursions from there for fairly cheap. This little caye has a little bit of everything for everyone!

Little we spot, $45 US flight from Belize Airport. Cool little island - especially if you love diving! Quite small a few days would be great!

I was just in Belize in Feb 2012! San Pedro is fun, laid back, and scenic, just like Madonna's song "La Isla Bonita". It's a good size island to walk around, jump right into the water to swim or snorkel, rent a bike or car to cruise around the small island, or do the many water activity with the boat rental excursions right next to the shore. Even if you go for a day or a couple nights, San Pedro is worth a trip!

San Pedro is a small, fun town in Ambergris Caye, Belize. Inexpensive, friendly, English is main language. Great spot to walk, shop and eat.

English-speaking country in central America with a barrier reef second only to Australia's. Small town of San Pedro Caye is fairly quaint and has everything from individual houses, to cozy condos and happening resorts. Great diving.
