A decades long family favorite. And now, even better , if possible, after a loving renovation by the Four Seasons Group. We've spent numerous holidays and occasion at this exquisite property. From the staff, the service to the surroundings, this is a world class hotel (not really a resort) for those with discriminating tastes and more saliently, those who appreciate the best of everything. Our only complaint, really, more of an observation, a more serious restaurant would be a welcome addition. But this past year, the iconic bar area was redesigned as Ty's Lounge, serving extraordinary Tapa's et al. A must, when you find yourself in the stunningly beautiful Santa Barbara / Montecito area of Southern California.

As always, if you want to stay at the best, the Four Seasons is a great choice. The rooms are lovely, and the grounds are equally impressive. The service is always a step above the rest, and the hotel has a lot of amenities that are worth the price if you intend to take advantage of them.

I only had one night at the Four Seasons Biltmore however, it was an incredible experience. This property is truly indicative of what is Santa Barbara. It has been beautifully restored in the past few years however, it feels as if you are stepping back in time because it has so much character and elegance. I have had the opportunity to stay at some incredible properties over the years however, this Four Seasons offers so much of the destination it is one of my favorites. There are so many little touches it is hard to begin. My room was a Deluxe King however, it had the vaulted ceilings so it felt larger than the standard hotel size room. My bathroom was a standard 5 point which I prefer (separate bathtub and shower and had an over sized vanity. Tile is everywhere and with colors/designs that complemented the room. The public space is incredible. The Bella Vista restaurant is right off the lobby. You can sit outside and have views of the ocean and the lights of Santa Barbara. If you really want an experience, your stay at the hotel includes access to the Coral Casino which is adjacent to the Resort and sits right on the ocean. Take in dinner or drinks at the Tydes restaurant and you will not be disappointed. The grounds at the hotel are incredible with so many old growth trees complemented by the incredible landscaping. Coupled with the service indicative of Four Seasons you will want to make The Biltmore a must whenever you are in Santa Barbara. NOTES: Request a room on the second floor if you are staying in the main building. The hotel is a mix of cottages and the two story buildings however, the ceilings are vaulted on the second floor. Lots of parking behind the resort as well as some parking lots for guests and if you self-park it is complimentary. Also, due to the layout of the resort, self-parking behind may be closer to your room then valet.

Such an amazing Sunday Brunch! The food was to die for! I loved the assortment of seafood options, caviar, oysters, ahi tuna & sushi rolls. Great staff, gorgeous views of the water and impeccable landscaping & decor. Make sure you get mimosas!

The Four Seasons Hotel in Santa Barbara is a great luxury option when you visit Santa Barbara. Located in Montecito, you are about 20 minutes from downtown Santa Barbara. However, when you come to the hotel; you will likely try to make excuses to stay at the hotel. Although the rest of the hotel is very nice; I think the hotel's best feature is its pool area.

The pool overlooks the ocean. The sun will keep you warm even on semi-warm days (65-75 degrees), as the pool area's glass walls blocks out the pacific winds but not the views. The area also features an olympic size salt water pool. For those who aren't into swimming, the lounge chairs offer a great place to lunch and a staff that is warm.

Although I did not have a family at the time, saw several families enjoying their time together...may not be most kid friendly; but kids didn't seem board. (Glass wall also has doors leading to the beach.

This is a gorgeous wedding venue and an all-around great hotel, with pretty Spanish architecture and a great location, within walking distance of lots of things in town. This is a big Four Seasons, as far as Four Seasons go, so there are lots of food options and there's something for everyone in the family to do.

This is a lovely hacienda-style property. Service is excellent and the views of the ocean from the main restaurant, Bella Vista, are exceptional. My only recommendation would be that visitors avoid rooms that are close to the main entrance of the hotel. I was in Room 102 which was right at the entrance to the hotel. Although the property was thoughtful in placing ear plugs in the room, it would seem more appropriate to have designed around this problem by reserving this area for public / shared spaces where sleep and privacy are less essential.

Best things about the property:

- watching dolphins swim from your breakfast table
- friendly and attentive staff
- hacienda-style motif with immaculately groomed grounds
- good fitness facilities (i.e., plenty of machines and a nice view of the ocean)

Only issues:

- rooms near front are a little loud / lack privacy
- lack of wireless internet (have to use an ethernet connection)

You would think that the very nicely appointed rooms would have sold me. Or perhaps the view or the complimentary bike use did it. Nope, it's none of those's their hospitality. Picture in your mind's eye that I'm being driven here really late at night...I'm really groggy and seriously have no idea where the hell I am. The car comes to a stop and I'm told to get my I clear the concrete eye bunnies to get my bearings I pack a bunch of random things in a flimsy plastic bag. As I take a step outside my bag of crap bursts open on the very steps leading to the front desk.
I stand there in my pj's (forgot to mention that) looking like a complete mess, now like a bum. I am befuddled by my luck and stare at the mess at my feet absentmindedly as a large coated figure walks my way. I look up and it's the door man smiling at me in that kind of warm fatherly way...."excuse me sir, would you like some plastic bags for that?"

There...that was it....that's all it took..... LOVE THE FOUR SEASONS!

It was when I was sitting at the pool and the attendants offered a complimentary cool-water & aloe face spritz that I realized this place was awesome.

I've stayed here a couple times and it is one of my go-to destinations for some rest & relaxation. Everything is done exceptionally well, from the manicuring of the hotel grounds to the quality of the drinks on the patio (which is right across the street from the ocean).

The only thing that bugged me was that after a walk on the beach, I had small remnants of tar on my feet as a result of the large oil spill in the 1980's. The hotel-valet staff was on top of this though. When they saw that I was coming in from the beach, they quickly offered me several packets of alcohol wipes which totally took care of the problem.

This Four Seasons really infuses luxury & supreme service into every part of my stay.

This is a beautiful resort. I stayed here in October 2009 for a friend's wedding and really enjoyed the beautiful, Spanish-style architecture, lush greenery everywhere you turned, and of course, the wonderful ocean view across the hotel. Also across the hotel is Coral Casino Beach and Cabana Pool Club which is fabulous! As guests of the Four Seasons, we were able to visit the club which boasts an Olympic SALT WATER pool...what an awesome swimming experience. Loved that I didn't have the smell of chlorine to wash out of my hair afterward :) After a swim one morning, we were pleasantly surprised by little cups of tasty trail mix offered by the club staff. If swimming isn't your cup of tea, then set up a beach chair on the edge of the club which is pretty much right on the ocean shoreline. oh lala. As a destination wedding resort, this Four Seasons was an excellent choice too. The bride and groom got married in a lush garden with the beach in the background. The reception was hosted in a ballroom that I would describe as having Old World elegance. There was a separate room for dancing with a beautiful fireplace. The food was excellent, and staff was amazing.
