park with requisite Ferris wheel, the Santa Monica Aquarium, multiple restaurants and a still-functioning carousel dating to the 1920s. It has been featured in many movies and television programs and is a popular spot for locals and visitors alike. A sort of cultural center, the pier plays host to summer concert series’ and experimental art events, namely the bi-annual Glow festival. Come for the fun and stay for one of the best sunset views around.

The pier is pretty cool but gets really packed with a lot of tourists. I like that they host free music events such as Twilight on the Pier. There’s interesting entertainment, and people to watch. I tend take out of town visitors here.

I walked along the pier. Honestly, I felt like I was missing out something. But I did ride the West Coaster ride and that was fun. I think the most interesting thing for me about the pier was view and the fact that Route 66 ends there. Maybe I should have eaten something over there.

Great for kids and young adults. Don't go at night if possible. The crowd is a little more diverse at night. Take a ride on the iconic ferris wheel. Have a funnel cake and play some old fashioned carnival games.

Watching the sun set on the pier was breathtaking, with locals playing music. I was lucky to go on a day not too busy, but all the stands with artwork are really worth their buck! The food was delish and the beach was warm. All the shopping before the pier is busy too and places like converse have art out of shoes on the wall! Plus street performers had me stop in my steps and enjoy the moment!!

A touristy place, but a great area to take pictures and walk along the ocean. It's also a must-do to ride the Ferris wheel to take in the breathtaking views.

I just visited the pier for the first time: in fact this was the first place where I saw the Pacific ocean. I felt an odd mixture of wonder and nostalgia because it reminded me very much of the board walks on the Jersey shore as well as all the movies scenes set here. Santa Monica Pier has a definite quaint charm. At night you can watch fisherman catching lobster with rod and reel.

Turkey,

Good to see but not to expect highly. It is ordinary pier as others around the LA. Downtown is good for shopping and eating.

This place is great! From food to a tattoo, you can get it ALL at the pier. I especially love the fun bike ride display close to everyone leaving and the beach shutting down for the night. Or that I can get a shirt made on the spot!

The pier is fun to hang out on and get some food. Take it down to the beach and hang out with your friends though the beach is a little dirty compared to the other ones in LA.
