some drinks. We even tried the new fad: wonut: waffle donuts. We watched the sun set over the water while listen to music. The vibe has changed from last year (2013). At last year's event, people and the vibe was chill down at the beach. There was even a large screen to watch the artist perform. This year, vibe has changed. There tons of police. They had atvs and horses. The police was walking around and checking people out. Nonetheless, I still enjoyed the free concert. I heard the cults and Yuna so far this year. If you like live music, you can come and enjoy live music for free. Here is the link to their webpage:http://santamonicapier.org/twilightconcerts/. Thanks Audrey and Sandra for hosting another great event at the Santa Monica Twilight Concerts.

I went to see Rufus Du Sol and it was really packed! I recommend going early to get a good spot. Although it's a nice place to enjoy hanging out with your friends since the beach, restaurant, and pier is right there, I could not hear the music. They should have put more speakers.

Every summer, there’s a free concert series on Thursday nights on the Santa Monica Pier called the Twilight Concerts. You can even stream the shows from home if you want, but the real thing is great fun.

What a fantastic event! I got the opportunity to attend my first SM Twilight Concert Series last night and it was so much fun. This is definitely something every Angeleno as well as tourists must do in the summertime. Great tunes and view from all angles.

Parking is a little tough but there's a lot on 2030 Ocean Blvd. for $10 OR just Uber!

This is a MUST DO event whether you are a local or a traveler in LA. The iconic Santa Monica pier and surrounding beach transforms into a free night concert where hundreds of people camp out on the beach with their friends to the delight of music radiating from the live artists playing! To maximize your experience, get there earlier to get a prime spot so you can dance the night away on the sand.

Tips: Definitely take Uber/Lyft/Sidecar here as parking can be extremely difficult and and a hassle. If you do plan on taking your car, definitely read the parking directions and lots that are provided on the website. If you have a banner, flag, or some kind of distinguishing landmark, BRING IT. Your friends will thank you as they looking into the sea of people. .

I missed last years beach concert so I was super excited to check this out this year. It was different from what I expected and it got pretty crowded.

Heard this happens every Thursday during the summer, starting in July.

I think this is a GREAT place to spend time with a large group of friends. I would totally celebrate my birthday here if I'm a summer baby. The only thing that sucks is the cops will be walking around to make sure you're not publicly drinking on the beach.

Music: Was subtle-ish. We sat further away so we didn't really pay attention to the band on the pier. Best to go to the pier if you want to appreciate the music.

Crowd: Super crowded! But theres always room in the back. Bring a huge colorful banner so your friends can find you.

Parking: We got lucky and found free street parking after 6pm!!! For those who are not lucky, there are parking lots that'll charge $5 flat rate (please do your research in advance).

Tip: Bring some cash, they have some food stands on the pier.

Bike Valet: the bike valet seems pretty cool until you end up in a long line to pick them up when the event is over....
