Local from Providencia

This hostel has an interesting décor. Bella Vista Hostel is full of little details that will satisfy those people who are really into art. Its common areas are small but colorful. The place looks like a party hostel: the atmosphere was super fun and the location of the hostel (Bellavista neighborhood) us Santiago’s best party area. It is famous for its bohemian feel, which is very cool but I would suggest staying out of it if partying is not your cup of tea. The staff was really friendly and helpful but they are not Chileans, but travelers trying to make some money. Maybe this is a pet peeve, but when I travel I like to be hosted by locals who can tell me about the country.

Local from Santiago, Chile

I loved the particular vibe of this hostel and I thought it was the perfect place to stay in Santiago if you love going to the theatre - there are many close by. Even though it was a small hostel and all the rooms were pretty compact, there were lots of people speaking lots of different languages from many countries when I arrived. I liked the variety. I also liked the fact that everyone seemed to be working together, deciding who was going to use the kitchen first, because it was so small. It made me want to stay there. I also loved the various paintings on the walls of different styles and sizes. There were antique sofas which had been reupholstered in the communal areas. I liked the attention paid to the furniture in this respect too. The only problem with this hostel, because of its small size, is that there were only two bathrooms for all the guests to share.

Buenos Aires

One of the best things about Bellavista Hostel for me was that it really close to the little market of the same name. I'm a big fan of market and this one is open all day, every day, and sells all kinds of pretty trinkets which make great souvenirs. The hostel was lovely too. I remember it being very warm and cosy, with an excellent choice of decor that was really well looked after. One issue, however, was that it was particularly small and there were no rooms or dorms with private bathrooms. In general, I like to have a private bathroom and so that aspect wasn't so great. However, top marks for service, cleanliness, and spirit!

It's located In the middle of the coolest, artsiest neighborhood in Santiago. From this place you can walk to a bunch of cool places like Bar Constitución or Patio Bellavista.
The subway station is pretty close too and you can go on a free walking tour through the neighborhood leaving from right next to the hostel.
