How do I describe the park in 15 seconds? Huge. People-watching. Runners, walkers, families. Sculptures. Art galleries. Green, duh. Skaters. Ponds. Food carts. Nature. Skyline. Cyclists. Photography. Whether or not you’re a park person, you might find it interesting just to take a short stroll.

I used to live right around the corner and I absolutely love this place. There's a trail around the park where people walk, run, skateboard, etc. There are also a few of great museums and eventually musical festivals are hosted there!

If you can find anything in Sao Paulo, the Ibirapuera Park is the place where you can find all tribes. This public park is a great place to go for a walk, to play or just relax reading a book under a tree. I just love it! Just be carefull with the bikes, specially in a sunny sunday :)

Who doesn't love Ibirapuera? You can go with your children or with your friends. It's huge and has so many things to do with special programs almost every day. I love going there to read, biking, jogging, concerts and spent time with my friends.

I like the space, the people, the things that we can do there - like walking, playing, eating, enjoying our friends, taking photos.

The park officially opened in 1954, and was designed by noted architect Oscar Niemeyer, and brilliant landscapper Roberto Burle Marx. They wanted to create a Sao Paulo equivalent of London's Hyde Park or New York's Central Park.

Ibirapuera is the largest park in São Paulo. It is the home of several of architect's Oscar Niemeyer works - like the Bienal building, where art exhibitions are displayed from time to time and where São Paulo Fashion Week happens, the Oca, another art gallery, that hosts the largest exhibitions in São Paulo, the MAM, Museum of Modern Art, and the Theater. There is also a place where people skate, a lake, a bike rental shop, a jogging track, basketball courts, a planetarium, a japanese garden and other gardens and places.

On sundays, the place is very crowded. Choose to go on mondays-saturdays (saturday in the morning, after noon it starts to get crowded too)
Rent a bike, eat a pic nic, exercise, or just enjoy the view.

Nice stroll along the park. Lots of people on weekend. Mainly joggers. Nice to unwind and make sure to come in the early part of the morning.

Definitely one of the best parks in São Paulo. Come early if you dislike crowds. The parking is inside the park and uses the "Zona Azul" system: buy one or two tickets (R$3 each) from the nearest booth according to the time you plan to stay and leave them over your car dashboard.
