A small collection of European and Brazilian masters presented in an unusual way on one floor. See work by Picasso, Van Gogh, Manet, Monet, El Greco and a very and a very famous painting by Brazilian artist Candidi Portinari.

Great museum. There are always good things to see, and horrible things too of course, and it is really much bigger than you can expect. The only problem is that there are no places to seat, eat or to buy souvenirs.

Opened in 1968, the building is one big eyesore on Avenida Paulista with a rather large concrete building supported by four ugly red columns, but the inside belies the unpleasantness of the outside. The Museum has some Goya's and Velazquez (my favorite painter of all time, he was a very lazy painter only completing 76 works that we know of) along with many paintings from the French Impressionists.

The MASP museum is one of the major landmarks in São Paulo. It's a modern red building right in the middle of Av. Paulista and holds the largest european art collection of Latin America. Under the MASP building, there is a large gap where, on Sundays, is held an antique market. If you walk to the back of the museum, you have a panoramic view of the Anhangabau valley.

The São Paulo Museum of Modern Art, more commonly known as MASP, is a fine art museum on Avenida Paulista. Its exhibition hall contains a collection of over 8,000 works of art ranging from Renaissance masters such as Raphael and Botticelli to more modern icons like Bonnard and Warhol, making MASP one of the preeminent museums in Latin America and the Southern Hemisphere. Aside from its art collections, a library, film gallery and two auditoriums are also part of the building and available for public use.

Located in the heart of Avenida Paulista, Latin America's most bustling and lively avenue, this is probably one of the biggest architectural treasures of th world, built in the modernist tradition by Lina Bo Bardi. The collection has beautiful pieces of modern art, and some great impressionists.

MASP is a national cultural treasure well regarded not only for its substantial collection of impressionist art, but also for its 1960’s Brutalist architectural style dominated by glass and concrete. The collections of French, Italian and Spanish works are remarkable, yet the pieces by several Latin American artists are particularly appealing as most allow the observer to gain a deeper understanding of the national culture and its inspirations.
