drink enough to find a friend. It was the end of a long, boring tour that was specifically tailored towards Japanese visiting Japan. I assumed it was a way for natives to take a trip with all the conveniences of home. And the surprises were little ones rather than mind blowing monuments. I watched mostly elderly passengers ooh and ahh at the bales of hay and a deer wandering onto the road. I went to a Lavender Farm where they made everything out of that member of the mint family, even wine, which I tasted and nearly barfed up. So I figure what's the best way to spend my day after drinking beer. Drinking more beer. So in order to get free booze I thought I had to suffer through the tour, but it turned out to be an interesting look behind the science and history of making lager in Japan. They even had a cool holographic cartoon to illustrate beer to kids and adult adolescents. So I got my Yebisu at the end (as well as a few more which I paid for) and I don't remember what I did after that.

We visited Kirin Beer Factory - Here you can understand how the beer is produced and the history of beer. After that everyone can enjoyed 3 cups of beer free of charge.

A must-see if you are here. A great way to taste beer and enjoy local food at the in-house restaurant. Hokkaido (and Sapporo) are very product of this beverage. This is a good place to try Genghis Khan (a grilled lamb dish) that is popular in this region.

One of my most memorable experienced in Sapporo was at the Sapporo Brewery. We thoroughly enjoyed the all-you-can-drink and all-you-can-eat yakiniku (BBQ). Of course the main draw of the meal was the draft beer with choice of standard Sapporo, Classic Sapporo, Yebisu and black Yebisu. Not into beer? The all-you-can-drink menu also included whisky highballs, fruity cocktails, and non-alcoholic mixed drinks. At the end of the meal, the staff took a photo of us holding beer props and gave us a free printed souvenir photo.

There was also a museum with brewery tours, but we missed the timing on that. Check ahead if you want the full experience.

Highly recommended!

I don't drink so it wasn't all the exciting for me. If you're in to beer, I'm sure you'll like this place.
