Probably the most unique brewery you will ever visit. Here not only you can taste great beers but also learn about the history of this place. This brewery was the only place that supplied fresh water during the war so it was bombed on different occasions and still survived. Great history lesson accompanied by tasty beers.

This is a really cool restaurant across the river from the old library. It has a 1920's Harlem feel to it and most importantly brews beer. During the war it was one of the only places in Sarajevo that had fresh water. Now it's a must stop restaurant near the old city of Sarajevo. Great food, good prices and fast service. You can also buy Karlovacko beer mugs.

There are plenty of beers to try here, and also a number of different flacors of rakia, but be careful because they are tasty and strong. The major attraction of this spot for me was the building itself. A grand room, with balconies, and a beautiful wooden bar. You can eat here too, but I did not.

The dark stained wood and brass around the restaurant is beautiful. The brewery's own draft beer was delicious. The deep-fried camembert was especially memorable. My visit to the brewery was a fun afternoon that I will remember for many years to come.

The brewery is so many things in one: historic building for architectural value and more recently to be the only supplier of drinking water during the war in the former Yugoslavia. Today it is a museum, obviously a brewery and a restaurant. For one reason or another, it is difficult to leave Sarajevo without making at least one visit

There is also a museum at Sarajevska Pivara, and you can visit the factory, but that's not why you're here! The restaurant-pub-brewery, in the street behind the factory (you arrive by passing the river with a short walk uphill) is a delightful place, with old stills. The atmosphere is very pleasant, the food is decent (international cuisine, above all: the choice of typical dishes is rather limited) but above all the beer - literally zero kilometer! - it is very good, and cheaper than in the rest of the city (where it is still very cheap!)

Sarajevka Pivara is the Sarajevo brewery, in the forward part it has one of the best bars in Bosnia, the Pivnica Hs. During the war years the brewery supplied water to the city and also continued to produce beer. The living room is all covered in wood, spacious, with a sector on the first floor that allows to see the ground floor, good place also to have a good view, when at night live bands play. Very good beer and variety of dishes, we ate a bite of smoked salamis and cheeses.
