This place is not a hotel it is a motel. I wish I had booked a hotel stay at a Holiday inn express near old town. Even our Uber Driver said he has dropped off a few people here with what he thought were hookers. Location is in an older area and close to most things. Room was clean. You can smell the bleach on sheets and towels which is good for sanitary reasons. Second night our door knob came off whole trying to leave our room. Room is dark and musty. We were busy so we tried not to spend much time here. Really not worth it. Spend a little more near old town by the nightlife and restaurants.

The retro feel here is just so cool. Walking into the lobby feels like stepping back in time. I personally loved the light fixture and neat silver bowl in the lobby. The mostly white decor made everything feel modern, like the Apple Store. The rooms themselves are a little old and probably could use a renovation. The bathrooms here are somewhat small, but the big beds make up for it. The rooms are a little dark and the darker curtains didn't help. The best part about this hotel is that it's near two really pretty parks. Ask for a room facing the park is a great view is important to you.

The 3 Palms in Scottsdale holds a special place in my heart because it was the first hotel my then-boyfriend (now husband) and I visited together. We were on a budget back then (still are!), but we wanted to get a break from our respective apartments and stay at a hotel, without having to spend a lot. The 3 Palms is a good fit for travelers on a tight budget. It offers clean, comfortable rooms in a pretty convenient south Scottsdale location. Tempe and downtown Scottsdale are a short drive away. My only problem with the hotel is that it calls itself a "boutique" hotel, but my impression after staying there is that it's not too different than staying at a nice Days Inn or Comfort Inn. There are some nice boutique design touches, like flowing orange drapery in the outdoor hallways and stylish light fixtures by the front entrance, but in the end, these are just a few cosmetic things that don't really cover up the boxy, cookie cutter layout of the hotel. One nice thing is that it's located right by a large park (I believe it's called Vista del Camino, but don't quote me on that). Ask for a room facing the west and you'll get a nice view of the park and its lake.

I feel like this hotel tries to be swanky and upscale and evoke that Palm Springs desert oasis vibe, but scratch beneath the surface just a bit and you will find some of the major luxury touches missing. Aside from the area, the hotel felt deserted and the not overly enticing or welcoming. The room I was given was in the front of the property by the parking lot, so I had to walk down a seemingly never-ending narrow concrete hallway to get to the pool, which is definitely the highlight of the hotel. It is huge and there is a really cute top deck lounge for grabbing a drink or a bite. I also wasn’t a huge fan of the smell in workout room, which may in part have been cause by the lack of air conditioning in the small, enclosed space. Rooms were small, but the decor made up for it.

Although 3 Palms started its life as a Comfort Inn, you can expect a little more than your average motel experience at this Scottsdale hotel. Think luxury, on a budget. The 3 Palms has a sense of style, a sort of modern elegance, which I really enjoyed. It even has its own color scheme: black, white and grey with orange accents, which is a common design element throughout the property. Its rooms are clean and sleek, outfitted with granite and chrome fixtures that really highlight its modern sentiments. Each room comes with its own entertainment center, consisting of a large HD flat-screen television complete with surround sound stereo, a feature not common to most hotels but surely appreciated by any audiophiles out there. Its pool is similarly huge, complete with a massive spa that rivals some other hotels full-size pools, a great place to beat the summer heat. All around a great place for a good price.

Great atmosphere, nice staff, upscale decor, and an awesome restaurant on the property. It's also very close to a lot of Scottsdale attractions.
