finger on her lips and, "shhhhhhhhhhh." There is enough whiskey in this bar for me to make a lazy river of bourbon. After I grabbed a drink, I carried my party outside by the fire pit. Cool experience. I felt like I was checking out an IKEA catalog in my room, I don't mean that in a bad way. The rooms are modern with a less masculine style compared to the other hotels. Saguaro is within walking distance to the Old Town Shops, bars, and event locations. Great place to stay, especially during spring training season for MLB.

It's an over priced mediocre hotel. I was expecting more as it's concept seems to be trendy and new age but it has some function issues that make it actually show its age. The service in the restaurant was awful. We saw a couple send their food back because it was cold and then waited forever so they just asked for their check to leave. We had average food. The pool was nice. Love how close it was to all the tourist areas and Uber's pick up so quickly in that area.

The Saguaro isn't so much a resort as a full-fledged experience, and although Scottsdale has a large number of resort hotels, this one is something special. With its colorful mod architecture, its sprawling pool area, and its perfect location in Old Town, The Saguaro is the height of luxury. Golfers can golf, health-seekers can get their spa treatments, and you can easily organize tours of the surrounding region. The "southwestern style" can get a little cheesy (e.g. the Turquoise Sage Mountain Arnica Massage), but the resort's restaurant is nothing to scoff at: Distrito might be the most sophisticated Mexican restaurant in the valley. I'm critical of tapas-sized portions, but the Distrito kitchen turns compesino favorites into works of art. The Saguaro sets an unusually high bar, if you have a large budget, it's hard to imagine better.

This is my second night here and second room.

Room number 1)
*Bathroom door would not open from the inside because it would fall off the tracks if you closed it completely.

*Went pee in the middle of the night and when I flushed the water started to overflow from the tank

*Woke up with little bug bite looking bumps on my leg, stomach, and one over my eyebrow. Doesn't look like bed bug bites. But concerning none the less.

*In the morning, I advised the front desk agent of the toilet issue (this little old blonde lady who was about as pleasant as the overflowing toilet in the middle of the night). I also told her about the door getting stuck. I informed her that my colleague was still in there so if they could check it out later I'd appreciate it.
No apology, just an "okay". Told her about the possible bug bites and she handed me a business card and told me to take pictures and email them. Again, no apology.

*Get to my meeting only to have my colleague (we were sharing rooms) ask if I asked engineering to go up in the morning. Apparently, the engineer knocked on the door once, called out "engineering" and tried to open the door. She had just finished in the shower and before she could ask "who is it" she had to push the door closed before he opened it fully.

Room number 2)
*Call the front desk because I realized I forgot my toothpaste, face wash, and face wipes in previous room. Those items had disappeared from the room.

*I poopoo'd (small. Nothing big, no diarrhea. Just small little poopoos). I did not use a crazy amount of toilet paper. Just enough to wipe like a normal person. I flushed, the water filled up the bowl and floated on the edge but as I was washing my hands it went down.
I go to dinner and come back, I pee, and I flush. Again, just the normal regular lady look like amount of TP. The bowl fills up to the top, I wait, no movement. So I jiggle the handle. The bowl starts filing up some more and now I've got peepee water overflowing onto the bathroom floor. It's about 10:45pm and the last thing I was to do is move rooms again. Both engineering and housekeeping have gone home for the night so I've got a disgusting peepee pool until 7am.

*Bed was instantly itchy as soon as I crawled in.

I can't wait to get of this place.

The Saguaro is the kind of boutique hotel that gives Scottsdale its hip cred. It's nearly impossible to miss the hotel, since it's candy-colored walls jump out at you from a distance. I personally really love the Mexico-inspired color combos here - from bright pink to orange to lime green and yellow. It's super charming, fun and unique. (Well almost totally unique - The Saguaro actually has a sister hotel in Palm Springs that looks very similar). The hotel itself is a pretty big and sprawling. There are lots of different sized rooms, from regular guestrooms to specialty king suites. The smaller guestrooms are on the smaller side, but the vivid colors and unique, eclectic decor made up for the lack of space. All the rooms feature at least one brightly colored wall, authentic Mexican wood/leather furniture pieces, 42-inch flat screen tvs, and an ipod docking station. Not bad at all. You can choose from garden and pool views. There's also a nice restaurant onsite (Distrito) that specializes in Mexican street food. Some parts of the hotel overlook Scottsdale's civic center park, and you can literally walk from your room and follow the nice garden paths into the Old Town District. Overall, this is a really fun, chic hotel in a perfect location.

Fun hotel with great folks working the front desk, and right in the cute downtown of Scottsdale. My work associate I was traveling with had some issues with her room, but was promptly moved after informing the staff of its condition. Great colorful design palette, with a chic hotel restaurant, Distrito.

The hotel is old and sort of renovated but not that well. The rooms are okay but reminiscent of a Holiday Inn eh

Hello Color! This vibrant hotel reflects 1960s Southwestern hipster design. The color palette is based on desert wildflowers. A very gentlemanly valet led me into the lobby where the Silversun Pickups were playing over the speakers. All of these elements gave me a good first impression and the feeling that this hotel has its own special charm and flair. I instantly knew I was in for a treat. Without seeming too pretentious, this cozy little gem is home to two restaurants – Old Town Whiskey Café serves American-style bar food and Distrito has savory Mexican fare. Be sure to get reservations on Friday and Saturday nights or be ready to look for food elsewhere. The outdoor pool area, where young adults dance to popular music, emits excitement by day. Ideal for weddings, you might consider this boutique hotel for your magical day. They have the space. They have the vibe.

Our first visit to the Saguaro- fun and funky. They have great room decor and have really made the property look beautiful. Lots of palm trees, greenery and multi-colored buildings. We dined at the hotel restaurant tonight DIstrito and it was excellent.

The Saguaro is a surprising gem; I’ll admit I wasn’t expecting to be so swept away by this resort. I stayed at this location back when it was The Mondrian but I have to say the sleek transformation to the Saguaro is a definite improvement. This place is seriously inviting with every inch of the property splashed with tasteful color, comfortable furniture and a welcoming staff with smiles on their faces.

The vibe of this resort definitely attracted a young professional crowd, which is to be expected of a nice spot in the heart of old town Scottsdale. What drew me for the stay was the hotels’ Distrito menu, which was crafted by world-renowned chef, Jose Garces. TASTY!

The hotel embraces its Arizona roots with a contemporary southwest style and two amazing pools. I could spend all day lounging on one of the many pool-deck beds and sipping mojitos.
