So the only problem with the Scottsdale Resort is that there's too much to do. Do you sip a cocktail by the fire pit? Do you devour a gourmet burger at Kitchen West Restaurant? Do you get a hot-rock treatment at the Luna Spa? For the most part, you might as well be visiting another planet, where luxury reigns supreme. But I was impressed by the little Arizonan touches: vintage photographs of old Scottsdale, barn-like facades for dining, and of course the golf course set against a mind-blowing desert landscape. The rooms are painfully elegant and boast an old-world flair, and they're so comfortable that you might never leave if there wasn't so much happening just a short walk away.

There's plenty to love about this hotel. For starters, just walking around the hotel will make you feel like you're at a luxurious mansion in the Southwest. The grounds are well manicured. The entrance is straight out of a storybook. The recent renovation has made it really nice too. I loved how the room felt modern and historical. The ceilings did seem a little low. And the hotel is a little confusing to navigate. It's also somewhat far from restaurants and shops. But there's an on-site restaurant you can go to.

Wow. My first visit to the Scottsdale Resort and Conference Center was an eye-opener, in the best way possible. The name of the resort sounds kind of bland, doesn't it? Don't let that fool you. The resort is tucked away on a quiet street in the McCormick Ranch neighborhood of north Scottsdale. As soon as I crossed into the resort, the lush grounds made me feel happy to be there. The resort kind of feels like it's tucked away in the country - if there was a massive golf course in the country, mind you. I would describe the style of the resort as southwestern-inspired with a touch of Mediterranean flair. The stairs around the resort feature lovely Mexican tile. Little design touches like that add up. When I was there, a large convention was in town, and on another side of the resort, a patio was being set up for what looked to be a large wedding. So, apparently this resort was only a secret to me. The rooms are divided between guest rooms and private villas, and the villas offer great, serene (it's pretty quiet at this resort) of the golf greens. The lobby has an excellent wine bar and restaurant. The restaurants offers great dinner specials in the summertime, so check it out.

I booked this hotel "blindly" on Priceline and I was extremely pleased with the resort!

The resort is set back from the major roads in Scottsdale so it is very quiet and peaceful. Parking is very convenient and free, and the hotel is very nice. The exterior made me expect something else entirely, but once I opened the room door, I was so happily surprised at what was inside!

My room was very large and comfortable, with two desks and chairs, ample workspace, and a European bathroom with a beautiful tiled shower and euro showerhead. The view from the room was gorgeous -- right on an interior courtyard with fountains, grass, trees and lots of birds. Nice swimming pools too!

This is a beautiful hotel with a real boutique hotel feel. The rooms are extremely well appointed and are very large. I think this property must have been recently renovated because the furnishings and furniture appeared to be brand spanking new.

One minor complaint I have is that the windows have wooden shutters on them instead of blackout curtains, so the room doesn't get very dark during the daylight hours. Another complaint is the "resort fee" that is added on your bill on top of your nightly rate. This extra $15 pays for all local phone calls, USA Today paper delivery, incoming faxes, parking, use of the fitness center and use of the tennis courts for 1 hour. I really hate these additional resort fee charges and I think they are completely bogus and unnecessary.

Overall, this is a gorgeous hotel with a distinctive European boutique hotel feel and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
