Seattle Center has been known as the 'nation's gathering place' ever since. Seattle summers are bookended by Memorial Day weekend's Northwest Folklife Festival and Labor Day weekend's Bumbershoot music and arts festival, but year-round, check out Jimi Hendrix's guitar at the Experience Music Project, ride a Monorail or ride rollercoasters.

The Seattle Center is a cultural hub of the city with several big ticket attractions. The Space Needle, Museum of Pop Culture, Pacific Science Center, Chihuly Garden & Gallery are all located here. There's also great playground for the kids. It's a must see for Seattle.

Seattle Center is packed with attractions including the Space Needle, Chihuly Glass Center, and Museum of Pop Art. Great public access via the monorail which is a fun iconic Seattle experience itself. There’s also a huge food court for Manu casual dining options.

The Seattle Center has lots to do and see year round but besides the iconic Space Needle for every day it's the place where fireworks celebrate the new year!

There is a lot to do at the seattle center! You can enjoy the many festivals that take place throughout the year, take your kids to the play area and fountain, and much more! Oh and the space needle is there too.

The monorail links the Seattle Center (space needle) with the Westlake Center (Downtown). Cool way to get from one to the other location.

The Seattle Monorail links Downtown and the Space Needle. It gives the city a little Sci-Fi atmosphere.

There is lots to do in Seattle Center. They have events going on all the time and a food court to grab a quick meal. You should stop by the space needle and the Chihuly Glass Garden and if it is summer run through the international fountain to cool off.

The last of its kind (technology wise)! A 1 stop ride for $2.50 to go from the pike market area to the Seattle center or vice versa. Hurry to the head of the train and sit next to the driver for the best view from the train

Take the downtown monorail to the Seattle Center. Built for the 1962 World's Fair, the 74 acre campus combines fairground, park, and arts and entertainment center all year round. See 360 degrees of Pacific NW splendor from the Space Needle’s observation deck, Enjoy science and culture at the Science Center, Center House shops and restaurants, the International Fountain dancing to pop music and orchestral classics, the Children’s Museum, Science Fiction Museum, Experience Music Project, and much more.

"Thread the needle here" Best place to see the center of the city where you can view the Olympics to Mt Rainier and enjoy the EMP, Science Fiction museum, Science Center and just let the kids run down to the fountain and across vast grassy knolls, pets welcome, Chihuly Glass Museum is the newest add and phenomenal! Concerts in the park to big names in Key arena around the corner, be sure to see Queen Anne hill and don't miss the Shanty for breakfast the oldest restaurant in Seattle down the hill! You might just sneak a peek a a crabber from 'Deadliest Catch' they always hang out here.

Check out the fountain in the center with a musically choreographed water spectacular. The armory at the Center house is a great place to grab a snack with many diverse options including Plum Bistro Vegan Fair. The Seattle Center is also host to numerous festivals throughout the year. Check the website for events. http://www.seattlecenter.com/events/festivals/

A cheap, reliable, and fast way to travel in the city! Perfect for traveling from the heart of downtown Seattle directly to the Space Needle and vice versa. The trains come every 10 minutes.

Some of the seats are even heated to keep your booty warm.

If you only have 36 hours in Seattle then this is a perfect place to start! A visit to Seattle wouldn't be complete without seeing the Space Needle. That wasn't my favorite part, tho. The Chihuly Glass Garden is also part of the complex and in my opinion a MUST SEE! It is visually inspiring and so interesting, photo buffs will love it! Finally there is the EMP Museum of popular culture. This Frank Gehry designed building is a stunner! Well worth the visit and if you have limited time, the perfect place to go.
