One of top 5 things to do in Shiraz is this mosque. Enjoy quality of pink tiles and go there as Early as possible to avoid any crowds.

Built during the Qajar era, the Nasir al Mulk Mosque is particularly unique because of the effects of the morning light streaming through the stained glass windows, and its interior design of pink coloured tiles. The result is vibrant, multi-coloured hues of red, pink, green, blue and yellow. Apart from being colourful, the mosque displays elements of panj kaseh-i (five concaves) in its architectural design on arches and ceiling.

Dawn light streams into Nasir al-Molk mosque, illuminating the meditative dusty air with a vibrant palette, enriched by stained-glass windows. The reflections intensify as they’re cast onto deep-pile Persian rug and painted geometric tiles. A highlight of traditional Islamic architecture of the Qajar era, it’s a visual treat. The mosque is empty at first light, a privilege which is a rarity in Shiraz, the city of poetry, wine, literature and flowers; the vineyards of old no longer exist since Iran became the Islamic Republic in 1979. This is my favourite mosque in Iran.
