Haven not only serves great food, it employs young people in the area and trains them with valuable work skills. Worthwhile to support.

Love this place and especially their new location since they moved close to Angkor High School into a stunning garden setting. Inside the old Khmer wooden house is also prime for enjoying a lazy evening or a jovial lunch. The menu is flawless; everything I’ve had here is delicious. They use all local products and chemical-free where possible. They use no plastic and have their own organic veggie garden, where they can compost kitchen scraps. I hear they are soon to have an operating bakery on site too!
This project aims to do everything possible to support young Cambodians, from teaching them a skill, about life and also how to protect their environment for the future. This is simply the best restaurant in Siem Reap! Book ahead… word has gotten out about how good it is.

This restaurant appears to be ran by a British organization that seeks to help disadvantaged youths by providing them with room, meals, medical, and best of all, a job to train them to live in the real world. These youths are your servers, hosts, cooks, etc and aim to please!

I made a reservation for this place based on recommendations. I was actually running late for my reservation, and Haven was nice enough to hold my reservation for me. I did finish by the end of the time slot though!

The service was more than excellent and the food was also really well prepared. I had the pumpkin soup ($5.50) and Khmer beef curry ($6.50). The bowl of pumpkin soup was huge and already filled me up! The curry was excellent, though it could have used more beef. Prices were pretty reasonable and inexpensive by American standards, though I'm sure it would be considered on the high end for locals. Entrees averaged $5.50-$7.

This would be a great place to take a date as the ambiance was very Zen like and quite romantic feeling. The music was a bit odd for the type of atmosphere. They were playing 80's British rock.

Overall, this is a great place to support disadvantaged young adults and paying it forward.

A fantastic NGO operated restaurant close to Pub Street. All the staff get trained in the restaurant to enhance their skills and find jobs in the hospitality. The menu is mostly traditional cuisine. Due the high ratings the restaurant is very busy and reservations are necessary.

Good food for a good cause - the staff and cook here are all in training and they so with a smile. Khmer-Fusion food with a beautiful outdoor setting and indoor seating area. You have to book in advance because this place is highly popular with local expats and tourists. Must try: Salt & pepper calamari, Lok Lak, Chicken Cashew, Pork Ribs and Rice Dumplings.

If you're looking for food with heart, head to Haven. It's a training restaurant for teens and young adults from orphanages and safe shelters, as well as underprivileged teens from rural poor areas. Most of the hosts, servers, kitchen staff, etc. are all learning restaurant skills. All of the staff we encountered were incredibly excited and eager. They have a great mix of Asian and Western food and even some Swiss specialities. This is because the couple who founded the restaurant are Swiss and we got to meet them while we were there. The food tasted great and it felt awesome to be supporting a good cause while dining. I snagged a super cute t-shirt while I was there too. (Cute design and it supports a good cause, so check them out while you're there.) We had one of our favorite meals during our trip through Cambodia and Vietnam at Haven, so I highly recommend you give it a shot.

This is a fantastic restaurant. The staff are absolutely lovely, the food is AMAZING and the owners really are working for a great cause. All the employees are disadvantaged orphans and this is a great opportunity for them. Just a warning-- this restaurant is likely to be fully booked at least two or three nights in advance so making a booking is wise. My friend and I did not do this, but luckily since there were only 2 of us we were able to sit on the couch. Happy eating!
