Les Artisans d'Angkor is a company that has brought jobs to the area as well as kept the ancient arts and crafts of Cambodia alive. When you visit, you get to see the artisans at work creating beautiful handmade items only found in Cambodia. What's so amazing about visiting this place is not only are you supporting the better of the community but you'll also have the opportunity to purchase true handmade items and not some mass produced junk from the night market. This is a great place to visit if you're looking to buy some souvenirs during your visit to Siem Reap.

There is a free shuttle bus daily from the Artisans Angkor workshop in downtown Siem Reap or you can go on your way to the temples. It’s a great look into silk production from start to finish and great to get out into the more countryside areas of Siem Reap.

I had heard of this place from a friend who had visited earlier in the year. We had to check it out, and it didn't disappoint. We were led on a tour of the workshops, from wood carving to stone carving to silver plating and more. The fact it helps disadvantaged people is a plus. One of the workshops had four deaf and mute girls working on silk paintings, and they looked like they were having fun while still producing high quality work.

The tour is free with suggestion of a tip at the end. We tipped our guide and then headed into the shop. The shop is huge, and sells everything you have just seen being made on your tour. Prices are more expensive than buying from a normal souvenir shop but the quality is amazing, and well worth it in my opinion.

Well worth a visit.

An impressive place with impressive products. The artisans do a 6 month apprenticeship, followed by a 3-6 month internship before working at their craft (stone/wood carving, painting, stitching, soapmaking, jewelry making, etc.), and the results are beautiful items of high quality. Definitely on the more expensive side, especially since they, like almost everywhere in Cambodia, charge dollars, but the value for the workmanship is excellent, if you are looking for high quality souvenirs or gifts, and the best part is that a large percentage of the sales goes to the artisans themselves.

Les Artisans d' Angkor is a NGO operated workshop, producing local products such as wood and stone carvings. The workshop is for free to visit and on request a guide shows you around in the workshop. Attached to the workshop you can find the store there all products are sold and the earnings go back into the facility.

This place is truly fascinating if you love art and traditional craft. Take a free tour around the artisan's workshop and watch skillful men and women making stone sculptures, lacquer products, ornate silver decor, wood carvings and silk painting. And if you love their work, buy a souvenir or two from the well-stocked shop. Everything here is beautifully handmade and the colours are so vibrant.

Appreciation local art of handicraft, handicraft centre for your own shopping. They created exceptional silk and lacquer jewellery, incredibly smooth organza silk clothing, unique lacquer tableware signed by the artisan who made it. Original handcrafted pieces of decoration.

Probably the best spot in Siem Reap for high quality locally produced souvenirs. The silks, silver / tin, and lacquer pieces here are gorgeous and they also offer a wide variety of newly-produced sandstone sculptures. Best one-stop-shop for souvenirs. Also has a smaller outlet in front of Angkor Wat. Goods are produced locally and proceeds go to charity.

I mentioned to my tuk tuk driver that I wanted to purchase some high quality stonework and silk bags made by local people. Little did I know there was an amazing program in place which offers professional training for the country’s illiterate young people. This place employs more than 1000 people.

They provided us a wonderful tour around the silk, woodwork and stone carving areas. The one thing I was pleased to see if that they employed people with disabilities in some areas. We walked through an area where the people did silk paintings, they were mostly deaf.

Though the items you purchase here is pricier than the Old Market, it is of better craftsmanship and it helps to continue the growth of training the local people.

The items were beautiful. I purchased many silk bags at their shop and I absolutely love it!

Artisans Angkor is a Siem Reap-based organization that has been training the craftsmen of the surrounding area in recent decades to produce high-quality Cambodian handicrafts using traditional methods. These range from ceramics, silk and wood and stone carvings to jewelry, silver plating and lacquerware. Visitors can watch the workshops in Siem Reap for free to see what work is involved in each artwork. For example, there are two free buses every day to the silk farms on the outskirts of Siem Reap.
