St. George Vacations

A UNESCO World Heritage site, St. George holds a claim to being the oldest continuously inhabited English town in the Americas. Beautifully preserved houses and forts like Fort St Catherine and Museum bear testament to its history, which includes gunpowder smuggling to the American Revolutionaries and, later, Confederates. tend to support the secessionist side, whichever that may be.) Its cobbled streets and colonial architecture are accented by actors in period costume re-enacting colonial era punishments like the "ducking stool." Numerous other historical churches and buildings make for pleasant guided touring or wandering on a rented moped.

somewhere “tropical.” The temperatures in the 60s and low 70s (18-22C) from December through March are great for golfing and getting off-season rates, but not as much for lying on the beach or spending time in the water. High season in Bermuda is when the climate is at its warmest, peaking around 85F (29C) in August. Hurricane season, which officially lasts from June to November, is cause for some concern when booking a trip, but Bermuda does see fewer storms than the mainland United States.

This historic town is small but full of things to see. There always seems to be a festival or party here, and a great, laid back atmosphere.

The is a nicely preserved old town, with plenty of historic spots and sights. The Anglican Church is pretty and has a nice graveyard. There is a Civil War museum at the old Globe hotel, showing Bermuda's role in the blockcade running during the civil war. The hotel is where the Confederate agent Captain Walker actually had a room. Tobacco Bay bay is a nice shallow beach, protected by a reef with facilities, snack bar and beach rentals. A short taxi or shuttle bus ride. The perfumery is nice to visit. The Tucker museum is interesting. You can get free samples of rum cake here or in the dockyard. The store also has glass items made in Bermuda. we take a different colored vase back each year.
