This is an outstanding hotel. Each floor has a railroad theme. We usually stay on the Pennsylvania rr floor. This time we are on the Frisco floor.

The restaurant has one of the best buffets in the USA for Hilton family hotels. Look for Debbie the server and tell her Steve recommend her.

We absolutely loved this hotel! So much history, this place is amazing!!!!! A little rough in places due to ongoing renovations, but so much beauty and so unique. The light show and bar in the Grand Hall were our favorite part. And then there is the staff: Each and every one of them just wonderful! Friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, cheerful. We will definitely go back.

Prepare to stroll through history staying here at the Hilton. Converting 1894’s largest, busiest railroad hub in the world into a lavish hotel, complex of shops, cafés and restaurants, and boat lake was a $150 million undertaking. Iron-horse aficionados will love the train-shed of memorabilia. Architecture enthusiasts will drool over the Grand Hall’s Romanesque vaulted ceilings, archways, ornate mosaics, frescos, and stained glass windowpanes.

This place was Amazing! I love trains but you can tell how big the trains were here in the past based on how extravagant the architecture was. It was certainly beautiful. Make sure to go to the bar or great hall between 5 and 11pm. They have great light shows on the ceiling. The beds are very comfy and the whole hotel was very clean!

Wow, this place is GORGEOUS! The lobby looks like it used to actually be Union Station, it is all gorgeous carved stone with pillars and details and the mold lighting at night is to die for. I went during the holidays and it was even prettier with all the Christmas decorations. Highly
Recommend having a drink in the lobby at night with the mood lighting - great place to take a date! But they do close by 12 or 12:30 or so so don't go too late!

In my opinion, this is probably the best lobby in St. Louis. Saying it's huge is an understatement, and the tall ceilings put me in awe. I could have stayed in the lobby alone for hours. Union Station is a historical icon in St. Louis. Once a train station, it is now a hotel/mall/entertainment venue. A special highlight at Market Street entrance is the "whispering arch" where two people stand on either side and whisper, and you can hear each other in the marble.

The train station was built in 1894 and a lot of the decor reminds me of the time and of the decor on the Titanic. Old photos line the hallways and the rooms are very nice and updated. This hotel just became the Doubletree in October 2012 and the fitness center housed downstairs is brand new.

The room was clean-ish and engineering came promptly when called.

The restaurant was lovely for a group.

The lobby bar is painfully slow.

Rooms were alright. Seemed due for an update. Super convenient to the Metro station (100 feet away). Attached to a mall with middle-class touristy stuff (Hard Rock Cafe, a place that stitches ball caps, etc.). Pretty far from the river, gateway arch, etc. Very cool historic building.

Great hotel here in St. Louis. It's the old train station. How cool is the lobby?
