Description
Kumu is a large art museum in Tallinn, Estonia. Many consider modern architecture of the building a work of art itself.

Housed in a building that is itself a work of art, the museum's collections are not vast but they are of good quality. Look carefully at the collection of art from the time of Soviet occupation. When examined closely many of the pieces from the Soviet occupation era have anti-Soviet messages hidden in plain site.

Aside from the extensive collection of Estonian artwork that’s received praise form the international art community, the building itself is a piece of art. This architectural gem is a giant c-shape rising from a hillside. Depending on what direction you approach it from, you may not even see it until you’re quite literally on top of it! It’s a gorgeous piece of modern architecture. Copper, limestone and glass

This park east of the city centre is one of the favorite spots for walking of Tallinners young and old. Kadriorg is famed mostly for its baroque palace and park ensemble, begun in 1718 as the summer palace for the family of Russian tsar Peter I. Kumu, the National Estonian Art Museum, and the Presidential Palace can be found inside the park.

Next to the Kadriorg park you will find this Kumu (Kunst Museum), it presents both permanent collections and temporary exhibitions. The main collection covers Estonian art from the 18th century onwards, including works from the occupations period (1940–1991) and showing both Socialist Realism and Nonconformist art. For classic art, this you will find in the Kadriorg Palace. Make sure you visit the hall with bustes of famous people and try to guess as much as you can.
