Telluride Vacations

The historic mining town is separated from the rest of Colorado, geographically and otherwise. In the southwestern corner closer to Four Corners than Denver, Telluride is more Wild West than Winter Park. In the 1800s, Butch Cassidy robbed its bank and blood was shed over labor disputes. In the 1970s, a new ski resort overtook mines as the largest ... Read more
employer, and internationally recognized film and bluegrass festivals soon followed. These days, Telluride has begrudgingly accepted its resort-town status, but townsfolk and visitors alike would rather go geocaching or mountain biking than wear Gucci or Miu Miu, and skiing is still about going down a mountain, fast.

Wonderful town in southwestern Colorado with some of the best skiing in North America. All season outdoor sports, but especially alpine skiing. Enjoy!

This former mining town lies in a box canyon, surrounded on three sides by 14,000-foot peaks, so few places can rival the natural beauty, or the solitude (population: 2,500; stoplights: 0). A free, scenic gondola links Telluride to the neighboring Mountain Village, and Telluride Ski Resort itself counts 127 trails, three terrain parks, and an average snowfall of 309 inches. The local dining scene is equally impressive: 221 South Oak serves Rocky Mountain elk chop and Colorado lamb shank, and Rustico Ristorante stocks 1,000-plus Italian wines. If you’re game to brush up on more than skiing skills, consider remote photo tours from Telluride Outside, ice climbing with the San Juan Outdoor School, or classes at the Ah Haa School for the Arts.

Epic mountain town. The steep mountain sides highlight this gem of a town. Skiing and mountain biking are intense. Hollywood and high rollers have started to find this town but it still retains the charm and character.

An unbelievable ski area!!
More than that though...
The restaurants and hotels cater to their celebrity clientele and everything is top notch !
The nightlife is pretty good too!

Great town with terrific hiking opportunities. A free gondola ride takes you from place to place.

We lived in a ski resort town and been to several, aside from Jackson Hole this was the worst. Tons of rich people, half wearing fur coats and overpriced food with long waits. My leg is still sore from being broken this summer but apparently the ski runs are great so at least one redeeming quality. Breckenridge kicks Telluride's ass!

We just got back from a road trip to Telluride-a fantastic mountain town. The summer activities rival winter-mountain biking, hiking, fly fishing to name a few. We enjoyed the cool weather and mountain vibe.

Flying home from Telluride area on Frontier Airlines. Shot as we climbed to altitude. Beautiful Colorado. North of the Black Canyon. how appropriate that we had a mountain lion on the wings and tail!! Too cute! Great trip!

Telluride is my favorite spot that I've had the opportunity of skiing at. The town is the definition of a "ski town" and complete 180 from places like Beaver Creek and Aspen. This is truly a gem in SW Colorado with some challenging runs.
