The Best Places to Eat in Perth

Visiting Perth can be quite an experience. It is a blend of beach and city and everything beautiful in between. Known for its mixture of cultures, the list of things to see and places to visit in this city is quite extensive. However, I've created a list of my favorite restaurants in Perth, ranging from cheap eats to five-star restaurants, to help guide you on your next visit. There is no shortage of cafes and breweries, so be sure to go out there and try as many as you can. Just remember that things tend to close early during the week (for those of us used to staying out and then enjoying some late-night bites) but are open later on the weekends. Enjoy and bon appetite!

1. Angel Falls Grill

Shop 16, Shafto Lane, Perth WA 6000, Australia

Pretty little restaurant along Shafto Lane. I went with my cousin - he ordered the steak and I had arepas with beans. Food was delicious, service was a bit slow (took us 30 minutes to get our food!) and the prices were a bit high for what we ordered. Overall though, I would definitely go back and recommend to others!

2. C Restaurant in the Sky

Level 33/44 St Georges Terrace, Perth WA 6000, Australia

Best cocktails in town with an amazing view! Went there for my best friend's 30th birthday celebration and we had an incredible time. Service was excellent as was the food. Highly recommend to anyone in the Perth area!

3. Globe Wine Bar and Restaurant (The)

Parmelia Hilton, Perth, WA 6162 Australia

Cool restaurant bar perfectly situated outside the train station. Perfect meetup for drinks with friends or after work meeting. Vegetarian options were nice as well. Overall, would definitely recommend!

4. Guzman y Gomez Taqueria

87 James St, Northbridge WA 6003, Western Australia, Australia

Have been here on various occasions for lunch and dinner. Food has a great taste, freshly made and delicious. Portion sizes are small so make sure you go for that extra taco or quesadilla! My recommendation, go for the nachos or the veggie quesadillas (those come with guacamole!)

5. The Camfield

Camfield Dr, Burswood WA 6100, Australia

This place gets 5 stars for location, environment and overall pretty good service. However, the food was a bit bland and could have tasted better. The beer selection was great and there were also some tasty cocktail choices available.

6. Local Shack

Perth Shack, 418 Murray ST, Western Australia 6000, Australia

Awesome place with a beach bar vibe. You can´t beat the prices, the food is delicious and the drinks are cold and tasty. Great spot for a weekend bite or dinner with friends.

7. La Cholita

279 William Street, Western Australia, Australia

Fantastic Mexican food. Intimate place with classic dishes in tapas style serving sizes. Margaritas are to die for as well as the guac and chips. Perfect for a dinner with friends or for happy hour!

8. Varsity Burgers

2/70 Aberdeen Street, Western Australia 6003, Australia

Best burgers in town! $10 gets you your choice of burger with some amazing magic sauce, chips and a drink. Veggie options available (the mushroom burger was to die for!) In some places, you can upgrade your drink for a beer... amazing, right?!

9. Toast

21/60 Royal St, Perth WA 6004, Australia

Small but delicious, this gem of a cafe is tucked away in a residential area of Perth. With modern Ikea-like decor and a big window which gives you a sneak peak into the bread-making process, Toast is a must when visiting Perth. I ordered scrambled eggs with fresh toast and an iced coffee with almond milk. My friend ordered the avocado toast that came with the freshest tomatoes I've ever seen. Everything was absolute perfect and for the price, it can't be beat!

10. Friends Restaurant

Fortescue Centre, 20 Terrace Rd, WA 6004, Australia

Fine dining at its best. One of my favorite restaurants in Perth because of the service and food selection. As a vegetarian, there aren't many places that get original with the options they offer. Friends shocked my taste buds in the best way possible. Prices are higher than most restaurants in the area, but well worth the price for the food, drinks, live music and service you receive.

11. Gordon St Garage

16 Gordon St | West Perth, Western Australia 6005, Australia

A former garage turned into a modern cafe and bar, Gordon's is a personal favorite for breakfast. Their granola bowl is very filling, fresh and so delicious. As a micro-roaster, their coffee is to die for (I normally had 2 cups any time I ate there!) and is available to purchase for at-home roast. The decor is minimal but beautifully modern with greenery everywhere - they also have a beautiful yard you can eat in. I have not eaten lunch or dinner here, but based on how good their breakfast selection is, I'm sure it is also incredible.

12. The Quarie Bar+Brasserie

2 Macquarie Bvd | Hammond Park, Western Australia, Australia

Small bar restaurant in the middle of Perth. Simple decor, friendly staff and family environment. Free ice cream for kids and sliders for adults! Lots of drink specials and beer options available (both tap and bottled). Stopped in for happy hour one night when they had a live band and ended up staying for dinner. Not a huge vegetarian menu, but they were happy to alter some ingredients and accommodate.

13. Sopranos

130 Mill Point Rd, South Perth, Western Australia 6151, Australia

Small, cosy Italian restaurant in South Perth - steps away from the ferry to CBD. Staff is ridiculously attentive and very nice - they make you feel at home and offer wonderful recommendations. Food was absolutely delicious. Our group ordered the appetizer sampler which was quite large, even for 4! Portions were all very large, most of us ended up taking food home because we simply could not finish. Definitely recommend!

14. Duck Duck Bruce

18 Collie St, Fremantle WA 6160, Australia

Strolling around Fremantle, I stumbled upon this cute eatery. The decor is bright and cheerful, the staff is lovely and the food is interesting. There are many options to choose from on the menu, which is both great and tough. You want to try it all! The food names and descriptions are fun and the restaurant itself comes with a really interesting origin story, take a look at their website to learn more! Overall, great breakfast/brunch place.

15. Heirloom

10 Adelaide Terrace, Western Australia 6004, Australia

Located within the Frasier Suites Hotel in East Perth, the Heirloom Restaurant is a nice change of atmosphere with its modern decor and warm atmosphere. They offer a fantastic breakfast buffet that has everything from fresh fruit to various kinds of omelets. My top recommendations for dinner are the seasoned vegetables (to die for) as well as the restaurant's take on the classic Arancini balls, they make them with ricotta and quinoa!

16. Epicurean Crown Towers

Crown Towers, Crown Perth, Great Eastern Hwy, Burswood WA 6100, Australia

Brunch at Epicurean is always legendary. There is a breakfast buffet offering a huge selection of food to satisfy even the pickiest eater's pallet. Personal favorites include the scrambled eggs, Dim Sum and the chocolate fountains with mini churros and fresh fruit. Reservations are necessary, especially on the weekends, or else you will be waiting a LONG time. Decor is trendy and elegant, atmosphere is always upbeat and service is excellent.

17. Bravo's

933 Albany Highway, East Victoria Park, Western Australia 6101, Australia

It's rare to find a restaurant that makes you feel like you're back in your grandmother's kitchen - but Bravo's does just that. The entire waitstaff is so warm, friendly and extremely knowledgeable. This is one of the best Italian places I've ever eaten in, including within Italy! The calamari is to die for as are the pasta Napoletano, the thin crust pizza and the garlic bread! They have an extensive wine list and so many delicious dessert options. I went back 3 times on my latest trip to Perth! Cannot recommend enough.

18. Brass Monkey

James St and William St, Western Australia 6003, Australia

Stopped by for lunch on a random weekday and was happily surprised to find their special for the day was a pizza and a pint for 15 AUD. The venue is enormous and you can tell it's a great time at night. During the day it is much quieter but you have the option to sit on any of the 3 floors, including the terrace. Pizza was good, beer was even better.

19. Sandalford Caversham Estate Restaurant

3210 West Swan Rad | Caversham, Caversham, Swan Valley, Western Australia 6055, Australia

Fancy, beautiful, breathtaking. These are just some words that describe the Sandalford at Swan Lake. The staff is very welcoming and extremely knowledgeable. You can choose to sit overlooking the vineyard for a beautiful lunch or dinner. There is also an area with an open fire and couches where you can relax post meal if you decide to. The restaurant offers a generous discount on wine purchases. Recommendation: try the wine tasting first, then have lunch/dinner and buy your choice of wine after your meal. 5 stars overall!

20. Barchetta

149 Marine Parade, Cottesloe, Western Australia 6011, Australia

Wonderful restaurant with breathtaking views in beautiful Cottesloe. After a walk along the beach, we decided to stop at Barchetta for a late breakfast as it was heavily recommended by friends who live in Australia. It did not disappoint! The service was on point, coffee was absolutely delicious and the fresh, warm scones were mouthwatering. All this at great prices plus a view!

21. Little Creatures

40 Mews Road, Fremantle, Western Australia, Australia

Venue itself is impressive. Take a walk through the brewery and check out all of the cool artwork on the way. Huge place, multi-level with indoor and outdoor seating. Gorgeous views of the water and especially the Australian sunset. Service was ok, very slow at times. Food was also just ok. Ordered the nachos and the spices were very heavy. Fries and oysters were good - both tasted fresh. Beer was wonderful - large selection and happy hour deals available.

22. Harvest Espresso

629 Albany Hwy | Victoria Park, Western Australia 6100, Australia

Small but cozy cafe located in the center of Perth. Very popular so you may have to wait unless you get there early. Food is delicious and beautifully presented. Completely agree with the other reviewer in reference to the almond croissant being the best. Large assortment of delicious coffee, pastries and food combinations. Ordered french toast and was pleasantly surprised with fresh fruit and muesli. My friend ordered scrambled eggs and pumpkin toast. Everything was absolutely delicious and for a great price!

23. Sen5es Restaurant

221 Adelaide Terrace | Novotel Perth Langley, Western Australia 6000, Australia

Located within the Novotel Hotel, Sen5es is a cool restaurant, predominantly serving and focusing on meat & fish plates. The staff was extremely friendly and serviceable - although the vegetarian options were slim, they were able to accommodate, making for a very easy ordering experience. The food presentation is beautiful and their wine selection is extensive. Overall, a great time for dinner with a high price point.

24. Zamia Cafe

May Drive | King's Park, Western Australia 6005, Australia

It is worth having a snack or meal here for the views alone. Found in the center of King's Park, this lovely cafe offers views of the lake, park and the city. Menu is extensive and delicious. Important to note: this is an extremely popular place so it will be quite busy, especially on the weekends. The baked goods are to die for, especially the pancakes!

25. Sayers Sister

236 Lake Street | Northbridge, Western Australia 6003, Australia

Outstanding place for breakfast. What caught my eye the most was all of the healthy options available! Service was impeccable, decor was beautiful and atmosphere was very lively. Even though the cafe was packed, food came fairly quickly. Very generous portions and the quality of the food was exceptional. Everything tasted fresh and homemade. I ordered scrambled eggs on pumpkin bread with an almond milk latte. Loved every bit of my experience here!
