Weather

When they think of Oregon, most people picture grey skies and rain. But though the western part of the state stays cool and moist, east of the Cascades is dry and arid. In the summer, the Willamette Valley can ... Read more
get downright hot, sometimes reaching over 90 (32). Coastal areas are much more mild in the summer (and often get a break from the rain), which makes it the most popular time to visit. Book ahead if you’re traveling over the summer, and pack a jacket since wet weather is unpredictable year-round. By October, the rain picks up again and stays through July, driving down hotel rates. But despite the rain, Oregon is gorgeous year-round: spring brings bursts of sunshine and flower festivals, while fall brings colorful foliage.

Tigard is a west side bedroom community for Portland. My step-daughter lives on the Beaverton/Tigard border, while the Hotel I stayed is on the Tigard/Lake Oswego border. That means that in these parts, it all kind of runs together. I'm sure there are interesting things to be had here if you're a resident, but as a visitor, Tigard is just another town along the road.

Tigard is like a suburb mushed between Beaverton and Lake O. It's definitely something you pass through but might not even notice when you do. Also, because it's a main artery for a lot of roads, it's a pain to drive through at certain times.

Tigard is a suburb located outside of Portland, Oregon. It is mainly based on a long stretch of Hall Boulevard. There's an assortment of restaurants, but try not to come during rush hours. Traffic can get pretty bad in Tigard.
