Udaipur Vacations

Rajput palaces and idyllic lakes are two of the ways Udaipur, Rajasthan imprints its magic on the traveler's mind. Lake Pichola is punctuated by the Lake Palace, floating on a small island amid the waters, and Jag Mandir is another island palace which sheltered the revolt of Shah Jahan. City Palace is another top site. The splendors of the palaces ... Read more
and lakes have not gone undiscovered, and Udaipur is also home to lakeside development and a thriving tourism business. Faced with the beauty of the lakes and the backdrop of green hills, however, a bit of traffic seems worth fighting.

This is a beautiful and bustling historic town on the shores of a lake. In the center of the lake is an ancient palace you can visit. This palace was featured in the James Bond movie "Octapussy," which, importantly, was *not* the film that inspired Donald Trump's recent quotes about how to behave around women. Great art and shopping here. Stay in a place with a rooftop restaurant.

Tagged as the "most romantic spot on the continent of India", Udaipur is very charming with its lakes, palaces, forts, havelis, gardens and romantic backdrops. Today, that label is becoming slightly less convincing as a result of mass tourism but Udaipur is probably still the most beautiful and romantic city in Rajasthan. Udaipur was also a film location for the James Bond film, Octopussy.

Udaipur lake side roof top restaurents are one of the few places where time stops by and the soul rests in peace, so go out to explore the most beautiful evening with changing lights, setting sun, mountains, lakes, reflections (physical and meta physical), royality, luxury , lights and what not☺

udaipur is number 1 city of the world it is call as Venice of east and city of romance , it is beautiful 5 lakes are here and the palace is beautiful with the influence of different world class architectures , great collection of paintings , they have opened two different sections , one of them is textile and the other is silver jewelry , , best hotel here like the lake palace, udaivilas, and trident also is a remarkable place, most of the travelers doesn't know that the oberoi hotels have a nature walk which is highly recommended , an evening boat ride gives you the real flavor, if you like then there are some good hotels budget hotels on the other side of the pichola lake , dine at 1559 restaurant and enjoy your food and tradition, there are some other joints too where you can eat , enjoy the best thali restaurant at garden hotel cost only rs150 each , other thali restaurant food is lousy not good , shop around hathi pole lovely things , visit udaipur and enjoy,

Built by a King, fit for royalty, Taj Lake Palace in Udaipur has hosted royalty, celebrities and Bond film Octopussy. The ultra-glam islet is a floating marble palace amidst Lake Pichola. My Grand Royal Suite is adorned in antique gilded swing, reminiscent of Princesses afore.

Hire the King’s boat with royal oarsmen for the most regal dining experience on the planet – also where my partner recently proposed. Complete with classical dancers, musician, fireworks and Champagne 10-course meal my answer was, ‘Yes!’

Another fairytale city in the south of Rajasthan, Udaipur is a fabulously romantic place to relax in luxury, shop, and do some excellent sightseeing. Built around the exceedingly picturesque Lake Pichola, Udaipur is home to the City Palace, an ornate complex of courtyards, terraces, and gardens overlooking the lake; and to the Lake Palace, a stunning ultra-luxury hotel occupying its own small island in the center of the lake. If your budget doesn't stretch to 5-star accommodation, there are a slew of plush guesthouses in the old city with excellent lake views from their upper floors. The outlying areas of the city start to look like the ordinary squalor of India pretty fast, but the cooking schools of the city center are one of best places in the country to learn how to make a mean paneer butter masala.

Udaipur is called the "Venice of the East" or "Venice of India", and when you see Lake Pichola, you'll understand why. It's very beautiful, especially when you come directly from the rougher/dirtier cities in India like Mumbai. The highlight for me was a boat cruise around the lake, where you can see the famous Lake Palace and Jagmandir Island Palace. The boat includes a stop at Jagmandir, and it's a great place to take a lot of photos. Udaipur is basically old-world, idyllic charming and its various palaces transport you straight to its storied past. I would recommend a visit; though I don't think there's enough to do here for more than about 3 days.
