this Valencia cathedral. Since 1424, the agate chalice that Jesus allegedly drank from at the Last Supper has been kept safe here. While it has acquired a few adornments over the millennia, the base of the cup has been investigated held up to much scrutiny. Will it ever be proven or disproven as the cup of Christ? Who knows, but you can come and see the relic for yourself.

A breathtakingly beautiful structure, it employs a mixture of artistic styles, both inside and out. Whether hides the Holy Grail is anyone's guess...

The Valencia Cathedral, also known as Metropolitan Cathedral–Basilica of the Assumption of Our Lady of Valencia or Saint Mary's Cathedral, is between the two plazas of Plaza del la Reina and Plaza del Virgen. It is beautiful from the outside and hard to miss if you are staying in this area.

I didn't find the Sacred Graal , neither I paid the outrageous 8€ to get in (it's free on Sunday) or climb the tower. Admired from outside this Gothic jewel was enough this time for me.

As many other churches in Valencia, also the cathedral was built between 1200 and 1400. It is basically a Gothic building even though there are many styles that could be detected, Including Romanesque, Baroque and Neoclassic. There is a very nice view of the Cathedral with a wide square.

It is the essential visit of the historic center of Valencia. Huge gothic cathedral with impressive architectural details, where you have to spend at least an hour to explore it in detail. Apart from the cathedral itself, it has in the adjoining part a museum that is included in the entrance you pay for. Inside it has historical relics such as the Chapel of the Holy Chalice or the high altar with its beautiful murals. Do not forget to climb the tower of Miguelete to have views of the historic center and the Plaza de la Reina ..
