The lobby of the Residence Inn is impressive with its expansive airy space and high ceilings. The staff are very welcoming and i was told it was completely gutted and renovated in 2012.

The rooms are all in a studio style without any real separation between the bed and kitchen area which makes the room feel bigger. 80% of the rooms have a balcony, and you can request for a room that comes with it. The renovation has been well done in the rooms as they feel modern and luxurious, though the hallway carpet isn't very stylish.

The hotel has a nice fitness centre and pool and also comes with free breakfast in the mornings. The location is right off Davie Street which has lots of restaurants and bars, and they also have parking at $20 per day. This hotel is a good option if you want to be just off the real hustle and bustle of downtown.

This hotel is in a great location. It is very close to a variety of dining options, outdoor activities and nightlife. Now, its called the Residence Inn because the rooms feel more like an apartment than a hotel room. The room I was in was very spacious and had its own full updated kitchen (full sized refrigerator too), bathroom and specific work area with desk. I loved that the bathroom had salon quality products. Along with the pool and gym, there is an amazing outdoor terrace space for guests to relax at the hotel. They also offer breakfast service, dry cleaning and laundry which make it perfect pick for the long term guests.

I liked the attractive bright lobby of this Residence Inn. The fireplace also made the atmosphere very cozy and that carried over to the on-site restaurant, Cavino. The staff members were friendly and helpful, too.

I also really liked the very spacious room. It was great there was a full kitchen inside with up-to-date appliances. The fitness room and pool were also both quite spacious. I noticed families with small children using the pool and, indeed this hotel does seem to have everything a family would need in its suites and the facility in general.

I could see this place working well for corporate clients, too. They have significant meeting room space and are within walking distance of many major businesses, banks, etc. The hotel is also close to many great restaurants, and the website lists several good dining options.

Located in the heart of Davie St village, the front desk is run by John, a cheerful and informative man who advised me on many of the nearby sights, including English Bay and Granville Island (via water taxi). I noticed most of the other visitors were families and out of towners looking for something a little more long term, which made sense since most of the rooms had kitchenettes and the views are available from the top few floors.
While Covina, the restaurant attached, serves up West Coast classics at a reasonable price, I took John’s recommendations and chose to eat on Davie St, which is full of great eating options and just a block away. And I’m happy I did, since Davie St is such a unique and colourful part of Vancouver.

The Residence Inn by Marriott is looking great after its recent $25 million makeover (it was previously Cascadia Hotel & Suites). They really did update the hotel from top to bottom and even the fireplace in the lobby and sidewalk patio restaurant look brand new.

All the rooms are suites and range from 420 sqft for a studio to 800 sqft for the penthouse. Every item inside -from the king sized beds in the bedroom to the stainless steel fridge in the kitchen - has been replaced. It's a great place to stay if you like a modern look (especially compared to the Landis suites next door), and the only part of the decor I didn't care for were the touches of Marriott's signature red color in the form of bolsters on the bed and foot stools. The facilities are brand new too including the heated pool, fitness center with new machines, and terrace where you can have a BBQ or just enjoy the fresh air.

Definitely come stay here and enjoy this reasonably priced hotel and its facilities while they're in impeccable condition!

I cashed in some points and came up here for a romantic weekend (awhile back). I was pleasantly surprised. The room was very comfortable and roomy and was cleverly layed out. The free breakfast was generous and varied and in a very nice room. And although the hotel is a bit off the beaten path, it is still a close walking distance to Robson Street, the West End, Stanley Park, and even Granville Island (via the water taxis).

As far as future romantic getaways, I would first try the Listel. But this place works too and offers some solid family-friendly options if say I decided to bring my son up too.
