fresh and hot and the taste has never changed. I highly recommend having a steam bun and egg tart with a cup of HK style tea.

There are lots of Chinese bakeries in Vancouver, but New Town takes the cake. It’s family-run and is a Chinatown staple if you’re ever in the neighborhood. The bakery has a lot of variety, from the classic pineapple bun and BBQ pork buns to taro or apple turnovers. They also have steamed buns and egg tarts so grab a number from the counter and fill your tummy like they fill their buns!

Come early to ensure you get the freshly baked goods and because the good stuff sells out fast!

Take a number and wait your turn and for a mere $5-$8 you can fill your stomach with the tasty treats from New Town Bakery. The steamed buns are the best in town.

For a few bucks more you can get a seat in the restaurant. The only downside is that it is a cash only business.

From the bakery try the steamed buns, coconut buns and an apple tart.
Stop by the restaurant for the cheap lunch menu.

When you see a lot of people constantly coming in and out of a place, (and people who aren't Chinese) you know that this is good stuff! There are so many people that they have a ticket system. When they call out your number, you step up and order.

We ordered a few egg tarts, and my dad ordered a wife cake I think. All I have to say about their egg tarts is DE-LICIOUS! Fresh out of the oven, the egg tarts were really good. Didn't even taste like any egg tarts I have had. Their egg yolk was the perfect amount of runny, and I really liked their crust! We drove back around and got two more. My dad also ordered a brown sugar cup gelatin thing. It was okay, but I really wish I ordered their white sugar cake.

They do have rush hour (especially during lunchtime), so be careful. We came back another day around four and the place was empty.

Definitely try their egg tarts!
